Don't you wonder why this issue ran silent for what, 4 months? Is the Katyal/Clement article all that powerful? Are they ALL lemmings? No lawyers? Somebody is being hoodwinked, and that somebody is the public.

Maybe the party was hit with a stupid bomb, I don't know. But about half a day of legal research, starting from scratch, says "no way is this guy qualified."
It was no secret in 2012 when he was elected to the Senate that Cruz had this to deal with. If he had aspirations for the presidecy, he had 4 years to address it. Otherwise, he needs to drop out, get it resolved, and run again in 4-8 years.
Donald is like a dog on a bone but in this case this will whipsaw back in his face. As long as he yacks about Cruz' eligibility, He hides his Liberal bonafides. Once that bone is gone he has nothing. Expect Cruz to beat him down on his Liberal New York Values.
There is no legal precedent, for we have not had a President born outside the US.
Therefore to claim it is “settled” is not accurate.
Well I was rooting for a little respectful banter between Trump and Cruz this election cycle but the same old cut throat crapola. Can we just resurrect the corpse of George Washington or Ronald Reagan?

They should, but they won't. The courts won't find anything near original intent either. It will be load of touchy feelie topped off with announcing anyone with the most tenuous connection is natural born.. which would make the entire point of the provision useless.

Yes we are on the same side of course. And once the primary is over, I love this place so much. During the primary it is horrid, but that is the price to ensure the bad person is nominated. Our group has a horrible track record but hopefully that will chance this round.

YES!! This is exactly what needs to happen. If Trump and Cruz play this right they can prevent the dems from shoeing in the dem candidate by judicial fiat - AND can expose the 2008 coup!

Maybe Trump’s announcement on Tuesday will be that he’s suing Cruz.
There’s one important thing that needs to be taken care of though, before the coup is exposed. We need to repair the hole in our southern radar defense. If Obama sees trouble coming he’ll tell his Iranian, North Korean, ISIS, Cuban, Venezuelan, etc friends - the communist-Islamist alliance that performed the coup for him - to attack the US (which may have been the plan all along since he said in July of 2008 that he would be POTUS for the next 8-10 years...)
Congress needs to DEMAND that the hole be fixed PRONTO. Why would they even THINK of leaving us exposed, if they didn’t want us to get hit?

Well his sister was a colleague with an almost identicle record of Sam Alito she spoke for him at his confirmation hearing. Trumo is very close to her.
When asked his favorite jurist he did not say his sister or Alito but mentioned Scalio and settled on Thomas. He took Roberts to task over his obamacare decision.

Bigger point - why back Cruz? There is no way he can win. Only Trump can put together the coalition necessary to win.
Trump is phenomenon. I don't know if he'll make a good president or not, but it's his to lose.
That's not the case. It's accepted (true or not) that Obama was born in the USA. Also, Obama's mother lived in the USA after Obama's birth; Cruz's mother did not, and she didn't return for some time.
Accepting Cruz's situation is a further step down the slippery slope away from US exceptionalism provided by the Constitution.
I agree with the posters who say if it isn't resolved the elite may find a way to finagle for those convention votes.

True. I think one thing I will give Trump is effort. He will try very hard to get our country back. Will he disappoint through the process. Heck yeah, but it is the results at the end of his term that I care about.
