Ted Cruz would seem to be one of the few honest politicians left in the USA.
Just shows you how wedded to the “Federal Ethanol Tit” Iowa has become. Americans are so self-absorbed that they don’t care what a policy actually does for the country so long as they make a buck. Personally, I think Cruz is right to oppose the use of ethanol in motor fuels and Brandstead is just sucking up to his constituents while doing the GOPe’s bidding to screw Ted. All that said, Trump is still my favorite, but this is dirty politics so I’m calling it what it is.

But for Iowa farmers, it is their millstone.
And many jobs in Iowa are dependent on ethanol.
So this may not be an important issue nationally,
but it is a big issue for Iowians.

This is monster huge. Trump will now run the table. I did not see this coming at all. many cruz supporters will now give up on the caucuses.Of course, Trump was in the lead any way but he just doubled his lead. I look for some very frustrated people for cruz “acting out” at the cauci. This is over. The establishment had shifted to cruz thinking they could give him money. All gone now!!

As an interesting aside: In 1990 Brandstadt vetoed the first Acupuncture Bill in Iowa. It would have granted Iowans access to licensed acupuncture health care. The bill went through the senate and the house in one session, and placed on the Governor’s desk for signing. The Osteopath Board told him to kill the bill and he complied.
Yet liberal Donald Trump panders to those fat cats anyway.

In the 80's I thought that the republican party believed in limited government, personal liberty, and free markets - boy was I naive. The republican party is a bunch of whores selling themselves to best paying john, all the while talking about how much they are better than the low class democrat hookers who work the streets. The mainstream media pimps for them both, high price or low price the media has a whore for you.

NO, he did not. He is against GOVN. SUBSIDIES for ethanol and all other govn. subsidies. Therefore, he is against sugar govn. subsidies, too, but not against sugar itself. One cannot say he is against sugar just as one cannot say he is against ethanol.
