In the following Trump interview from 2012, Trump says this country needs major surgery. Trump was asked about running for president, to “lead the way”. Trump said he hopes someone else would emerge as a leader.
Of those who signed on to the manifesto, did they step up? Trump DID step up!

You’re asking for the impossible. You can’t refute the argument that Trump isn’t a conservative, because he isn’t one.
It has reached a fever pitch this morning! Wow, so much panic I can’t imagine how challenging it must feel to be in their shoes.
I think I’ve seen no less than 8 redstate articles posted already, all devoted to the hate Trump drum beat.
The only name on that list that I’m saddened by is McCarthy.
Other than that, those are not voices I have put much faith in. It’s great to have them listed in all one place!
I have more respect for some of the authors than others. I wonder if making placing their authorship together in such prominence does not diminish their arguments more than bolstering them.
My fundamental problem with Trump is that he does not fear God.
“his party”...you mean “his party as of today”
Well, I congratulate you on being one of the only posters that actually found a substantive argument to make against one the writers. I disagree with the pragmatism of amnesty of former presidents that you pointed out. In that, we are in agreement. The only point where you and I would differ would be whether or not Trump intends to actually do anything.
He has called for a wall. Huzzah!
Mexico is going to pay for it. Really??? Forgive me if I find this to be absolute gibberish.
His wall will have a big, beautiful door because he likes immigrants. Boo.
Round up the illegals and ship them out. Hurray!!!
Let the good ones back in. Ugh.
Expedite the good ones, ahead of those that wish to enter legally. WTF???
Who are the good ones? The same old shit. The ones that will do what Americans will not, bla, blah, blah.
Trump’s rhetoric, over time, becomes nonsensical. He doesn’t care what he says only because he doesn’t keep track of what he has said in the past. Whatever he thinks will cause applause is what comes out of his mouth. Until you arrive at where his immigration/border “policy” is now.
A wall with a door, get the illegals out but them right back in. His own son said it was amnesty. Why? That’s what it is, dressed up with tough sounding rhetoric with giant, gaping holes in it.
Mark Helprin? Shaking my head. Sheesh.
Naturally
They are not all in for Trump. So that makes ALL of them rinos by default.
Even as political rinos and the RNC are running to Trump’s side.
you make a Nationalist sound like a bad thing...
RINOS
Do I hear a Hallelujah and Amen?
HALLELUJAH AND AMEN!
My take to share with you is TRUMP is a TRUE AMERICAN. The man thinks as I, lived and grew in the same country and the two of US no longer see OUR COUNTRY on the vast horizon.
TRUMP= US and without US there is no victory. There is no AMERICA
HALLELUJAH AND AMEN!!!
It is difficult to discern any GOP candidate with a chance of winning who has a history of getting things done as an executive.
RE: It is difficult to discern any GOP candidate with a chance of winning who has a history of getting things done as an executive.
OK, so the case for Trump is not that he is a conservative but that:
1) He has a chance of winning
2) He has a history of getting things done.
#2 above is a two edged sword.
Obama also gets things done HIS WAY.
The question then becomes WHAT GETS DONE? Will what’s getting done against the principles of conservatism be good for the country?
RE: My take to share with you is TRUMP is a TRUE AMERICAN
Are you telling us that ONLY TRUMP meets the above criteria and the other candidates do not?
Other candidates that meet the criteria are: Santorum, Huckabee, Jeb Bush, John Kasick, Carly, and Trump...
Rubio is questionable and NO to Cruz...he was born on Canadian soil...
No, am saying nothing against the other candidates. Happen to have liked Cruz from the beginning of his campaign but will be very honest to say my thoughts on him have been changed of late. When I say Trump is a True American it’s meaning is he loves this country as much as I. The two of US get teary and are prone to goose bumps when singing ‘God Bless America’ or when citing ‘I pledge allegiance to the flag’ We see the country as being the country in which we were raised. We see a country that has been eroded over time, corruption, and liberalism. Neither one of US recognize what we see these days and long for ‘what might have been.’ had things been different.
Trump clearly had made liberal view pronouncements in the past and has supported and donated to liberal Democrat politicians. But he clearly did so because of his need for government favor as a major large building builder, operator of casinos and so forth. His doing that seems to indicate that he would cater to those who can put him in office and re-elect him and whose support would create a favorable place for him in history.
The reality is that he is going to be the Republican nominee. Do you really think that it would make any sense to vote for the Democrat nominee in the general, or some third-party candidate who, if they were to receive a significant part of the vote, would assure that the Democrat would win?

“So these people have just told us they are ok with the system that put us 19 trillion in debt, creeping sharia law, the increased risk of being shot by ârefugeesâ we are told to welcome, and the loss of our jobs to illegals or people in other countries.”
And You Think DT is actually gonna do something about that? If you do I have a bridge I can sell you cheap.
