Here’s a prediction for you. Trump loses Iowa and proceeds to label Iowans as stupid and ignorant farmers not bright enough to understand how great he is. His arrogance and delusional self importance are only rivaled by the clown currently in the White House.

In other news Ted Cruz was sworn in as President by Glenn Beck . Cruz breaking with tradition took the oath on a compass instead of a bible. Now that Cruz has been sworn in there is no further need for a GOP primary or general election. :-)

He recently reinvented himself as a conservative to get elected to office just like so many liberals before him did.

You've never heard a liberal talk like Trump is talking...You want us to believe everything Trump says is a lie and when he gets into office he'll be an Obama clone???

For one thing, Trump is too arrogant, too conceited and has too big of an ego complex to let himself fail...If he says he's going to do something, he WILL do it...

Only the polls that are good for Trump are reliable, and are cited by Trump himself repeatedly. Any polls that aren't good for Trump are bogus.

It thought everyone knew that by now./s

Oh,to the contrary. Bernie Sanders is constantly talking about how the poor and middle class have been shafted, and how he's going to make it better for them and restore the American Dream. He, like Trump, talks about how Obamacare doesn't work, and how he supports a system where the government will ensure that everyone gets affordable health care. And he, like Trump, opposes any change in entitlement programs.

The parting on the left is now a parting on the right. We shouldn't get fooled again, but it looks like we will.

Reagan ran on it and won.

But sure, if you just tell people what they want to hear without regard for what's good for the country, it's easier to get elected.

That used to be one of the major criticisms we had against the left, but apparently the worm has turned. We're now about populist pandering.

And those are all good and legitimate points...The big difference is the way that Bernie and Trump plan to solve those problems...

Are you really suggesting that what Trump is proposing is not good for the Country???

I'm "suggesting" exactly what I said. That refusing to support entitlement reform, and criticizing those who do support it, is the type of short-sighted pandering for which conservatives used to condemn the Left.

As to your question, I do not think opposing entitlement reform is good for the country. Do you?

The aspect of this I find particularly ironic is when Trump's opposition to entitlement reform was defended on the grounds that you "lose election"s if you run on that issue.

Great. Wonderful. That's exactly the type of criticism for which people attack the Washington elites -- that they're too concerned about winning elections and appealing to a broad base of voters rather than doing what is right for the country.

Go ahead -- listen to Boehner, McConnell, and all the rest. They resisted a lot of things conservatives proposed because they thought it would alienate moderate voters, and they or their members would lose reelection as a consequence. And now, at least according to that other poster, Trump is opposing entitlement reform for the exact same reason.
