Thanks, Mac, for the Missing Man Setting as we remember those who have given their all that we may gather safe and secure.

Sounds like a plan. Will you be solo, or will someone join in if they know the tunes?

Howdy, Kathy.
Snow and ice all gone. Temps in the mid-50s took care of it. That’s one thing about TN .... if we don’t like the weather, we just wait a couple of days. It’ll change. LOL
Settled down after all the excitement yesterday? Nerves no longer rattled? That was some real yeeha y’all had. *shudder*

Glad to hear you’re doing well. I recall seeing, a while back, that you were in NM now. Liking it? Sure a lot more comfy than AK! brrrrr!
We got a little dose of the storm down here but not too bad. Our snow’s all gone now. YAY!

It’s good to be back. I was born and raised here. A lot has changed. But, a lot is still the same.
Crime. Crappy roads. Road construction...
To: radu
I was distracted. Medicine time for the cat.

Can't remember if I related this narrative here. Last Thursday, after the minor snowfall we had Wednesday evening that tied traffic up for hours on the evening commute, I was walking to the office from the Metro. I was surprised by how little treatment had been applied to the sidewalks - they were hazardous.
I went into the Pret a Manger at the corner of 11th and F Streets - got my coffee and a croissant and walked out to go to my office on F Street - about 100 yards away across 11th street. Walking into the intersection, I quickly saw the the street was a sheet of ice. I reduced the interval of my steps to several inches and moved slowly across the intersection.
Looking to my left, I saw a car coming down 11th Street - he slammed his breaks on and went into a 360. He came to rest no more than 5-6 yards from me.
Two possible conclusions:
1) I'm too mean to die.
2) More likely: The Lord is looking out for me.

Aaaaaah, I didn’t realize that was home turf. Cool!
I dealt with the same when I came back to TN after a long absence. Some things different, some the same.

I’m usually the one who gets distracted. LOL! Cats driving me up the walls, watching Momma Owl on her nest, things like that.
Taking care of the kitty a top priority! Is this the same kitty or a new one?

My son was stationed at Patrick AFB for 3 years. He had an unusual job in that he was attached to a DOD recon ship and he didn't tell me a lot about what they did, but they went to the Arabian Sea a lot on TDY.
This was the beach that we visited that was part of the base. It was so nice!Once when I was there, I saw the launch of the last Titan rocket. it was awe-inspiring! Such energy! |

He is one I picked up in Fairbanks. A stray in negative 30 weather. He is enjoying himself now.
