Other than that just buy quality canned goods and donate it to your local church food bank.

***********************************************

Our church food pantry has canned goods galore. What we lack is meat, dairy and eggs. Canned goods are contributed by members as well as non members. To provide other goods we pay out of our church budget and it is already strained.

!00% of goods and cash donated is distributed to the needy, donated cash is used for those items I mentioned. We currently supplement about 100 families per week....and growing.

We also collect used but usable clothing. Winter coats are much needed.

I do not agree. Wounded Vets is a response to the inadequate respect and response by this country and VA. It is a disgusting testimonial of the betrayal our country displays to guys and gals who lose their body parts in devotion to their country and when they return they fail to receive the care they deserve.

They also do not accept donations from church groups. More important to stay away from religion, I guess.

There is a story of a group of kids at a church raising money as part of their religious training, and they collected it so send to Wounded Warriors. They sent it back and said they don’t take money from churches, even though there was no proselytizing - just a check.

Things that make you go, “Hmmmmm.”

Mr. Trump has said that he supports the U.S. veterans that are “wounded warriors”.
He has not said that he supports the organization named “Wounded Warriors Project”.

There is a distinct difference.

Paralyzed vets of america are bad as well. Spend a lot asking for money and a lot on really really nice vans.

Best charity is nearly always the Salvation Army when ranked... something like 90 to 95% of the money goes to the needed. The ratings folks ding them sometimes because they are not “open” and follow Christian principles, but they get the money to the people in need better than any other org.

Gee, and CBS “news” decided to “investigate” ONLY AFTER Trump decided to donate to the WW Fund!

But to look into the Clinton’s self-funding corrupt foreign-dictators-who-kill-women ??

You want to help vets? Donate to Fisher House, Injured Marine Semper Fi, your local VFW or American Legion or Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. These people get the money to the needy.

Exactly, no controversy here. I remember reading the International Red Cross only passed through %10 of donations. 60% sounds huge.

WWP gets a C rating from Charity Watch

Charity Watch lists 10 Veteran and Military related charities with A+ to B+ ratings

American Red Cross earns a rating of A- from Charity Watch based on spending 90% of its cash on programs vs 10% on overhead.

We’ve been giving to Homes For Our Troops for about 15 yrs. 5 star rating. 89.4% of funds go to disabled Vets.

Yup. Or find other local ways to help them. All my charity is local other than the clothing I give to Goodwill. I only do that because it’s easy.

that’s better than most charities that spend 85% of their money raising more money

I don t believe that number for American red Cross. But my reference was to international red cross.

Not bad when weighing them up with the Red Cross, and of course federal, state, and local government skimmer scammers?

And next in line, the Clinton Foundation, and that home heating assistance scam the Kennedy clan version III was running.........
