When I was in Korea in ‘52 several guys got “Dear John” letters from their wives. It completely devastated them. One I knew personally had a total change in personality. One of them in another company kept volunteering for combat patrols. There was a saying in those days, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder .... for somebody else.”
God promised us protection in Isaiah 45:17 - No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you is condemned already.
That’s the prayer I’m using for the Pastor. God can soften his heart, and heal his mind. No weapon of the devil can stand against the Love of God.
I understand he went to visit his mother there, and while he was there he was caught handing out Bibles.
If his mother is still there .. it might be a draw to him, if things do not work out with his wife.
Brutal. Some soldiers sacrifice even more than their blood and lives.
This abuse apparently happened before be was imprisoned.
Iâm a retired correctional officer. I spoken with several wives who told me that after their husband got out of prison, all he wanted was anal sex.

The original posting stated that she filed separation papers the same day he was freed, I think.
Thanks for your service in ‘52. I was only 10 then and we kids were putting together boxes containing toiletries and other items to send to you guys.
In the US these days, it is routine for divorce lawyers to tell women to allege abuse, regardless of the facts, in order to improve their position in court.
The timing (she was supportive of him for as long as it didn't seem likely he was to be released, then turned against him when he was freed) makes me think she was liking the attention (and potential book deal). With his release, the attention goes back to her husband. I also think she was likely unfaithful, and concerned about his finding out upon his return.
And for those who believe her charges of abuse against him, and get upset at me and say "How dare you accuse her of infidelity with no real evidence!", I reply "I have just as much hard evidence of her unfaithfulness as you have of his abuse -- none at all"
