If true, the trooper should make no vacation plans for what remains of his life.

If the cops can shoot a 70-year-old man at a traffic stop for reaching for his cane without any repercussions I wouldn't count on there being any this time.

One of the most disturbing aspects is: Taser first and then shoot and kill. If the man was disabled by the taser, there was no excuse for the shooting. The legal standard for such situations is that law enforcement officers may us that force, AND ONLY THAT FORCE, which is NECESSARY to achieve a LEGITIMATE law enforcement objective. Shooting a man disabled by a taser somehow seems not to meet that standard.

Drove at a LEO with a vehicle (assault with a deadly weapon)

Drove around a blind corner and tried to avoid smashing into the sudden barricade in the middle of the road, and also tried to avoid the stupid SOB who dove in front of his vehicle INTO the snow. I've seen people do dumber things, but not many.

didn't submit when given a lawful order

If "a lawful order" was given, he couldn't hear it above the silence of the audio.

and reached for a weapon.

And reached for a gunshot wound or some other kind of wound.

You're beginning to bore me, PLM. Your guys almost done doctoring the audio on the ground-level video yet?

I'm guessing that LaVoy put a fly in the audio ointment by yelling while he was getting shot.

You'll be able to hear his voice change as he's getting hit. :)

And the Fourth Amendment prohibition on prohibiting unreasonable searches and seizures? Did Justice Kagan take that home, give it to a straight friend for the friend’s grandchildren to play with and it was never found again????

It most certainly did. They were suspects in an armed Felony.

Perhaps you'd be so good as to post which particular "armed felony" they were suspects in.

"Armed conspiracy to not get shot at a road ambush"?

Is there something so important about the people’s business in this case that the government just cannot let the people know? Like the audio? Why is that? Not a conjecture. Just a question.

Another legitimate concern. A throwdown weapon!

The armed occupation of the Wildlife Refuge. Or did you forget where they’d been for the last three weeks?

I heard on radio a guy say the Feds did this as diversion - and it certainly is that.

Sad so many spend so much time and emotion, presumably justifiably, to figure this all out - well that is good to prove the Feds did a bad thing -

- but they were sent to do this and did it on purpose.
Just Feds being Feds. [ what can I say hmmm VOTE TRUMP ]

[ This was a guy explaining things he knows about from many years of being inside of such things. He said he was endangering himself by speaking up. Another guy getting older and conscience speaking I guess.

This was on INFOWARS on Wednesday show Jan 27, speaking during segments of IIRC 2nd and 3rd hour - anyway it was over 2 different hours. ]

"In the federal criminal complaint the U.S. attorney for the District of Oregon charges the eight defendants with a single count of conspiracy to impede an officer of the United States."

Don't see anything about "armed" in there.

If I stood in the way of a federal worker, and wouldn't move, I could be charged under the statute.

You're throwing in the "armed" to stoke up feeling against LaVoy Finicum.

The guys who were REALLY "armed" were those Fed Gear Queers, with all their $15,000 submachine guns, drones, heavy military vehicles, etc., etc., etc.

I don’t know. How quickly do the cops EVER release audio and video? I was surprised how quickly they released the drone video.

They might be concerned about compromising the identities of the LEOs involved. Probably a good idea from their point of view.

And for the Record, I’m not advocating the Fed’s position. I’m just pointing out how these things go down in reality. Much to the aggro of some of my fellow Freepers, it seems.

They’re really going to be pissed when they find out I support Ted Cruz.

No, really.

Why don't you post up the "armed felony" that they've been charged with?

Maybe your computer search skills are better than mine. :)

18 U.S.C. § 372 Conspiracy to Impede Officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation, or threats

The penalty is "fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six years, or both." "Not more than $5,000" was changed to "fined under this title", in 2002.

You’ve progressed from your annoying defense of the LEO’s with the “perps should have known better” type excuse to blatant misrepresentation of the situation to fit that same narrative.

The driver DID stop his vehicle. The LEO had to jump out of the way because he had previously jumped in front of the braking, swerving vehicle traveling on a HIGHWAY in the first place. It isn’t even a felony evading at that point.

Carrying a firearm during the commission of a felony is, in this case, another diversionary sound bite. If the felony was due to the possession of the weapon in the first place — as you’ve erroneously posted earlier — it cannot also be the basis for the additional charge (”during the commissIon of”). If it wasn’t — as is the car here — then it is only an additional charge at the time of the arrest or arraignment. You can’t have it both ways.

For everyone’s edification, why don’t you explain how the “occupiers” violated the federal statute. Please don’t say that legal possession of a firearm is, in itself, evidence of “intimidation” — else I could certainly posit that anyone could sue any LEO for infringing their rights in any number of situations using the same claim.

That LEO was dumber than dirt, and luckier than the day is long.

If Finicum hadn't saved his life by turning farther into the snow, that dipstick would have been a red greasy smear on the underside of the transmisson.

Charged? I don’t know if they’ve been formally “charged” with anything, but they’re most certainly suspects in a bunch of serious crimes.

Speaking of speculation, is there any actual EVIDENCE of carrying fully automatic weapons (such as AK-47s and the like) or RPGs????? Are the usual lamestream media suspects keeping this from us because they secretly support the Second Amendment? Are the federales keeping this from us because they don't want to hurt the feelings of the grieving families. Have the feds indicated an intent to prosecute on firearms violations? No, No, No, and No! Things that make you go: Hmmmmmm!

Isn't the story here that he came round the sharp turn, and drove into a snowbank to PREVENT hitting the officer? How is THAT assault. No evidence of any knowledge that the officer was standing in in the roadway UNTIL the deceased took the sharp turn and then he immediately drove into a snow bank to AVOID hitting the officer. What was he supposed to do? Go airborne? Use a transporter beam? This was certainly not battery (actual hitting) and was not even a minimal assault (threatening intentionally). That was being surprised by Law Enforcement in the Third Degree. Not a crime or even a civil cause of action.

Legal authorities are not a different and superior species of human being. The badge is NOT a license to kill. They are not 007 whatever they may imagine.

Were those in Finicum's vehicle occupying the nature center or ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MOTOR VEHICLE on a public highway at the time when this atrocious incident occurred? No.

We ought to care a LOT MORE about our constitution and its bill of rights rather than what the Feds THINK (if they think) they are doing. Unless you don't mind waking up in a police state.

Back to your first paragraph. OK, I blew mommy away. She was pushing a baby stroller and I just did not know what kind of firepower she was packing in their or whether the infant had weapons and weapons training. I heard a rumor that a woman looking like Mommy had pulled a felony shoplifting caper at Walmarts, stealing thousands of dollars of baby clothes, toys and diapers.

"Ya can never be too sure, ya know. Better safe than sorry! I hadda stop her before she struck again. OK, so she was not the actual shoplifter. OK, all that was in the stroller was the baby and a bottle and a rattle! The baby will heal eventually, maybe! Sheesh, we all screw up once in a while. Are YOU perfect? Cut me some slack here!"

Ummmm, Agent Bruno McBrutal Neanderthal, you are under arrest! Turn over that badge and gun and step slowly away from them.
