Until we see differently the FBI deserves the benefit of the doubt. If their desire was to cover this up why are they assigning more agents to the investigation and why did they open a second investigation into public corruption or “pay to play”?

Many people seem to be missing the obvious conclusion that you do not assign more investigators to an investigation that is going nowhere. The FBI is an agency who has historically and statutorily protected our nations secrets - it is one of their primary missions and they take it very seriously. I would be shocked if they do not recommend a long list of charges related to this investigation.

I am very interested in the second corruption investigation - that one seems far more complicated, but I would assume they have all the foundation emails and I am sure they have pulled many more emails off the state servers to see which ones correspond to donations at the Clinton foundation. That investigation would probably involve lots of Grand Jury activity (testimony/interviews and documents) and it would take far more time.

They would have to establish that “entity A” wanted something favorable from the State Dept and that favorable treatment corresponded to a donation to the Clinton foundation so you would likely have the left-hand (Clinton server) talking with “entity A” and at some point that would cross to the right-hand (State server) in the form of directives and favorable action. The go-between would obviously be Hillary’s inner circle. This would then be backed up by financial records of donations and likely subpoenaed emails within “entity A.” This investigation would be very complex and could take some time. The alleged assignment of many more agents is not indicative of an investigation going nowhere and public corruption is another primary mission of the FBI.

They won’t control charging, but I will be shocked if they don’t recommend charges for the classified material, that one seems to be obvious. The second investigation is far more complex. I don’t believe the politics will be within the FBI as so many seem to believe - it will be with those who actually charge or not charge (Attorney General). One has to think among the “pay to play” possibilities that there will be a few that are obvious. There has been speculation for years about favorable treatment from State matching donations to the Clinton foundation.

Just my personal speculation and thoughts.

I had hoped that the career bureaucracy would act as a firewall. It appears that it is not the case any longer. The politicization of the career civil service is a cause for concern for everyone.

Agree 100%, but realistically the appointment system of people at the top guarantees that politics are always in play and many of the top bureaucrats play the game for advancement. That is not a new trend.

The smoking gun is the 22 emails the FBI won’t release. If they’re too sensitive to release - even “completely blacked out redactions” - then they’re unquestionably proof.
What many still seem to not understand: it’s not just that she had the secret content routed to her private & unsecured server, it’s that “YOU CAN’T GET HERE FROM THERE” with such messages without _deliberate_evasion_ of security systems. The fact that such messages were on her “private server” is proof enough that major felonies were committed “mens rea”.

I’ll second that!
Although I do “have a dream” also.
That President Trump, as soon as he is inaugurated, turns and says to O, “You’re under arrest”.

A year from now, when Lynch and the rest of the the political appointees at DoJ have cleared out their desks and moved on to their new K street and Wall Street gigs, the career DoJ civil servants will likely be having some frank "conversations" about this with their new boss. If that new boss is someone like Ted Cruz serving as Trump's AG, things could get very "interesting".

It's really unwise to pull a tiger's tail.

“The only question left is whether Comey will blow his stack and resign when Obama won’t let Lynch indict Hillary.”

...and whether Lynch tells Comey “it’s coming...” for months, while the DoJ “reviews” and “assesses” - until the election results become more definite.

If she wins, the matter is buried forever.

If it looks like she’ll lose, Obama pardons her. Again, buried. People write a few books about it. (See Benghazi, Whitewater, FBI files...)

Got it, thank you for the response.

It just appears to me that everything is coming unglued.

The web of connections to the Clinton organization may grant leverage to indict a sufficient multitude upon other charges. How far is the evidence leading the investigation beyond Hillary?

“Good then why don’t they indict Obama for obstruction of justice and treason for starters?”

Wouldn’t that have to come through our Republic majority Congress? The one with no spine?

Sorry, Petraeus is a military great, but a political Democrat hack. No way anyone should want him in any executive government role.

Petraeus’ plight is just an example of the Democrats eating their own. That in itself should serve as a warning to any other military man the cost of supporting any Democrat politician.
