Don't rely on a single anti-malware program. I have at least five, all free. I randomly pick a different one nearly every day, especially if I have been to unfamiliar web sites.

If you're curious, they are:
Malware Bytes
Trend Micro Housecall
Sophos AV
ESET
F-Secure

There are probably others, these work great for me. Malwarebytes seems to be best at picking up PUP's ("Potentially Unpopular Programs")

The one that gets me is ROBLOX pop-ups on my Mac AND PCs when I use Firefox or Pale Moon!

You can block a lot of malware by simply installing a HOSTS file. It is a text file of known malware addresses and prevents your computer from accessing those sites. Very effective. Works for Windows, Mac and Linux.
