GOP front-runner Donald Trump may have played a significant role in breaking recent precedent strongly connected to President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign.

And it could catapult him to victory in Monday's Iowa caucuses.

Between January 4 and February 1, 3,651 Iowans registered as Republicans ahead of the caucuses, according to data released Monday by the Iowa secretary of state's office.

That beat the previous high-water mark of new-voter registration between the same period during the past three election cycles, which came during then-Sen. Barack Obama's 2008 campaign. That year, 3,262 voters registered as Democrats over the same timeframe.

Franklin Graham was in Iowa on January 5 urging Christians to pray, vote, and run for local offices. I would not be surprised if the Decision America rally inspired new voter registrations.

A favorite of the media is to take a picture of the seats early, before most of the audience has arrived. ... Or in a longer event, there will be a bathroom break in the middle of the event. That’s when they take the photo and spread the propaganda.

The media consciously tries to demoralize one side and motivate another side.

The media also loves the surprise non-scandal. A month before the 1988 caucus, Jeff Greenfield told me that we..the media... were saving a surprise to hit Pat Robertson and knock him out of the Caucuses.

So the weekend before the Caucus the headlines hit on newspapers, TV and radio: Pat Robertson caught in sex scandal. The headlines totally demoralized the evangelicals and pro-lifers backing the preacher.

So what was the scandal? Pat Robertson Jr, now middle aged, was born only 8 months after the wedding scores of years earlier.
