The crux of the Koch brothers' anti-Trump strategy, and their reasons for opposing him:

The Koch official shared for the first time focus group research the network had commissioned showing that Trump's popularity falls when voters are shown how working people have suffered as a result of his bankruptcies and business dealings in Atlantic City, N.J. Stories of Trump's efforts to enrich himself by hurting ordinary people proved most effective at generating negative views of Trump, donors were told.

Several older donors spoke passionately against Trump in the private session, and only one donor in the room made a half-hearted attempt to defend him.

(snip)

Some Koch donors are refreshed by Trump's style and his willingness to reject political correctness and speak his mind. But his past support for tax increases, universal healthcare and other liberal issues means, they say, he cannot be trusted.

"You have to judge Trump on his past statements, and while it's clear he's been on two sides of nearly every issue, the one side he's never been on is our side," said the donor who attended the session but asked not to be named. The conversations were held in a setting that was closed to the small number of press allowed into the resort, which the Koch network rented out in its entirety and stocked with heavy security to prevent infiltration.

Maybe, when you learn hos to post a coherent reply, you’ll also understand that this group is also going to try to take Cruz out as well.

“But nobody who has ever worked with him has ever said a kind word about him.”

That’s WRONG! I know attorneys who have worked with him and others that worked against him on cases. At least these several guys all had good things to say about him. That includes honesty, work ethic and intelligence.

Others may differ, but to say “Nobody” has a good word for him is flat out wrong.

"They’re implicitly admitting they can influence/choose our leaders."

Two sides to this: Isn't Trump implicitly admitting he believes he can buy your vote?

But nobody who has ever worked with him (Cruz) has ever said a kind word about him.

THAT IS A CHEAP SHOT — AND VERY WRONG. It isn’t Cruz who calls women bimbos and ugly. Most people who know him say he acts like a gentleman. That would never be said about Trump. We don’t need a petulant five-year-old in the WH.

[[Well Rove was right tonight .. open-borders Microsoft was counting the vote in Iowa tonight ...do the math]]

I listened to him doing the math all night long during the last election- assured everyone that dear leader would lose- showed us all the precincts that were ‘strongly against him’ and how he couldn’t possibly get enough to win- showed us the numbers all night long-

I stopped listening to him after that

I have never missed an election but the thought of voting for Cruz makes me physically sick. He reminds me of the snake-oil salesman side of LBJ. He looks creepy, he talks creepy, and generally makes me feel that the Republicans are dirty, just like watching old Lyndon bs America about the war and the economy. And the appeal to evangelicals (who never show up for the general election but demand to pick the nominee) is so deceitful. Pathetic that people don’t see through his egomania.

They’ve been slinging it at him since June 2015 and it hasn’t stuck at all.

Iowans are not as bright as they think they are. In fact, it’s hard to think of one notable Iowan that was worth a damn to history. Tom Harkin? Lots of those in Iowa. It’s not a state that’s on anyone’s bucket list for sure. If it weren’t for their place in early voting states, they would be unknown. That’s the truth of it.

Personally, I wanted Trump/Cruz to come in about 32%/28% but it looks like the goody-two-shoes Iowan GOP establishment voters got their marching orders and Rubio is the result.

Statistically, Iowa was a tie between Cruz-Trump-Rubio. But it doesn’t matter because Iowa doesn’t matter except for anti-Trump propaganda. Cruz is living in a fantasy bubble state because the national media scumbags have been training their sights on Trump. Cruz cannot even imagine what they will do to him if he ever gets too close. Rubio is the real face of the establishment.

Going to NH, only candidates receiving at least 10% votes will be awarded delegates, and all other unallocated candidates go to the winner. If Trump takes 28% of the vote, he receives about 6 delegates but also about 6 unallocated delegates for a total of 12. Cruz takes 2 or 3 if he surges. The 6 delegates Cruz takes from Iowa and the 5 Trump takes from there, leave them projected at 17 to 9 favoring Trump. (Rubio may receive none at all)

SC is winner take all and will decide who the nominee is as long as there is no prospect of a brokered convention.

I don’t believe in polls at all but if I had to bet, I would bet Trump takes NH and SC and then it’s all over.

"Rubio, weak on immigration, not tough enough overall. Too young, too establishment."

But he's got those super cool boots!
