State Department spokesman John Kirby said Tuesday then-Sen. John Kerry used a "non-official" email address to send Hillary Clinton information in 2011 that has since been classified.
The emails between Kerry and Clinton were included among a small batch of records made public by the State Department Friday. It had been upgraded to "secret," the level of classification in government above "confidential," but below "top secret."
"I can tell you the [email] that we talked about being upgraded to secret was sent from a non-official account, and the account from which it was sent is no longer active," Kirby said of the email Tuesday. "I've not spoken to the secretary about his reaction to that being out there."
The State Department's decision late last week to upgrade 22 of Clinton's private emails to "top secret" and block their release renewed speculation that the former secretary of state may be facing deeper legal trouble than experts initially predicted.

For Clinton, the distinction between Official, non-official, classified, unclassified is NOT a question. She NEVER HAD AN OFFICIAL STATE DEPARTMENT EMAIL ACCOUNT that has been shown to ever exist. From what evidence exists, ALL of her electronic communications were via an unsanctioned, unclassified, unsecured and (if you believe the White House, unknown) email server.
It is utter horseshit to equivocate separations of distinctions beyond this simple difference.
John was just passing along Tah-ray-suhs yoga lessons and her recipe for gin-soaked raisins.

Why do all the Govt people have their personal emails being used so much for official business? In the real world the opposite happens— private stuff on the company computer. Are all these people using the private emails, really that close or like family, who would normally would use the private account?
If they were concentrating on the job they wouldn’t be screwing around checking their personal emails.
There needs to be a law “no official business on any type of private account”. Only the govt can say it is too difficult.
What is Cruz doing about it?

I wish I could understand why. I have two personal email accounts, one primary and one I use for situations where Inwamt to keep mist of the junk in another account. My work related emails are sent/received unsung a account t provided by said employer or organization. Simple.
