Cruz has 'strongest ground game' in Tennessee, campaign director says

NASHVILLE -- Fresh off GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz's Monday night victory in Iowa's caucuses, the head of U.S. Sen. Cruz's Tennessee campaign says it has the "strongest ground game" going in the Volunteer State.

The campaign also sought to provide new momentum here by announcing an additional nine Tennessee legislators who are endorsing the Texas Republican, bringing the total legislative endorsements to 18.

That's "10 more legislators than the next closest GOP candidate," Stephen Siao, Cruz state director, said in an email to reporters. We will also announce a county chair for each of TN's 95 counties, which no other campaign has achieved this cycle, and no GOP campaign achieved in 2012 or 2008.

"We have," Siao declared, "the strongest ground game by far of any GOP campaign in TN."

The list of new endorsements includes state Sen. Janice Bowling, R-Tullahoma, and state Sen. Jim Tracy, R-Shelbyville.

Others are: state Sens. Mark Green, R-Clarksville; Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald; Frank Niceley, R-Strawberry Plains; Rep. Tilman Goins, R-Morristown, and Rep. Ron Lollar, R-Memphis.

Ground Game versus flying in on a private jet. We’ve seen how that works.

The question is — can he convince the voters everyone has dropped out when they haven’t.

Some of the unhinged ones are still hanging on. That’s ok, I think their whole Canadian shtick is working in Ted Cruz’s favor. The more mean and ugly they get, the broader Ted Cruz’s appeal IMHO.

Just my two cents.

All the best—GGG

Ground strategy, money devoted to same, paid staff and volunteers executing the strategy. As opposed to flying in, holding a few mass rallies, and then hoping the attendees will magically divine how to win, and then execute said nonexistent plan.

They’re parasitic kinda like leftists who constantly want to argue so they can keep attention on whatever their issue is.

I must block 100 per day on twitter without argument to prevent them from using my TL to spread their disease. Here I just don’t engage them.

Sorry, even with Cruz’s super spectacular ground game and visiting all 99 counties 99 times, he was behind going into the vote. If he hadn’t lied about Dr. Carson, he might not have won.

Ground game means there are boots on the ground door knocking, shaking hands, meeting people face to face. Cruz had 30,000 volunteers working in Iowa for weeks before the caucus yesterday. He worked it hard as did his volunteers.
When I was involved in the last election of 2012, we delivered a Democratic county to Mitt Romney. Our county has/had a majority of Democrate voters. We worked on the ground door knocking, sign holding on street corners and placing signs on lawns. We started in March and worked up until the election. It worked, but it is hard and many hours that you will never get back. Pissed me off that I did it for Romney, but I hated the idea of another four years of this garbage.
More important now as the Supreme Court hangs in the balance which will be game, set, match for the country.
