Carter: ‘I Think I Would Choose Trump’ Over Cruz [Cruz is not malleable]
The Daily Caller ^ | February 4, 2016 | Christian Datoc

Posted on 02/03/2016 10:32:29 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Former President Jimmy Carter surprised reporters in London Wednesday by saying he would choose Donald Trump over Ted Cruz to win the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, "which may surprise some of you."

Carter stated that given the choice, "I think I would choose Trump.... Trump has proven already he's completely malleable,” reports The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"I don't think he has any fixed (positions) he'd go the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right wing policies he'd pursue if he became president."

Still, Carter feels Trump will "fade away" in the general election and said he will support the eventual Democratic nominee.

"Bernie Sanders has had a remarkable showing, particularly among young people," he continued. "In Iowa, he had 85 percent of young people. I don't know what the final result will be. My own personal opinion is that it's very likely Hillary Clinton will still prevail in the Democratic party. Of course, I'm a Democrat and I will support the nominee."

Bob Dole Says He Prefers Donald Trump Over Ted Cruz

"....Speaking of Cruz, Dole called him an "extremist" and said: "I don't know how he's going to deal with Congress. Nobody likes him."

"I question his allegiance to the party," Dole said of Cruz. "I don't know how often you've heard him say the word 'Republican' - not very often."

Dole is the second establishment-type figure to criticize Cruz in recent days. On Tuesday, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad said: "It would be a big mistake for Iowa to support him."

Trump: I Have A Great Relationship With Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer

........TRUMP: Well, I think that I'm going to be able to get along with Pelosi. I think I'm going to be able to -- I've always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I've never had a problem. Reid will be gone. I always had a decent relationship with Reid, although lately, obviosuly, I haven't been dealing with him so he'll actually use my name as the ultimate -- you know, as the ultimate of the billionaires in terms of, you know, people you don't want.

But I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid. And frankly, if I weren't running for office I would be able to deal with her or Reid or anybody. But I think I'd be able to get along very well with Nancy Pelosi and just about everybody.

Hey, look, I think I'll be able to get along well with Chuck Schumer. I was always very good with Schumer. I was close to Schumer in many ways. It's important that you get along. It's wonderful to say you're a maverick and you're going to stand up and close up the country and all of the things, but you have to get somebody to go along with you. You have a lot of people. We have a system.".....

Trump has been making similar noises about Putin and Kim Jung-Un.

The Kim Jung-Un thing is different than the KGB/FSB Putin thing. His bromance with Putin is the troubling one. I doubt he actually likes or trusts the NK leader, as he does Putin.

I add more to this thread to drive home the point.

Nobody cares about your "points" any more, CW - hence the FR civil war.

That's exactly why you have Carter and Sanders saying this. Mind games.

It is an effective tool on the weak minded like this Cincinatus' Wife character.

Very keen observation.
It appears supporters of both Billionaire autocrats have something in common, that runs deep and cannot be helped.

Trump and Putin supporters have strong daddy will-fix-and-make-everything-better fixation, which blinds them to uncomfortable facts and reasoning.

Proving yet again -
Republicans are stupid, and Democrats are evil.

RE: “KGB Putin is pulling for Trump too, as are most if not all of the FR Putinistas (naturally).”

Exactly!

Beck’s so fat he’d throw one punch, miss, and fall down.

Carter could beat him to death with his walker.

I think it's mean-spiriTED to infer stuff about Calgary Cruz, the Convenient Constitutionalist... :)

First there was HillaryCare.

Then there was ObamaCare.

We can't afford TrumpCare

So would a lot of crossover democrats would vote for Trump in the general. No one can win in general with only the conservative voters. Goldwater proved that. He was as good a conservative as one can get.

On the other hand, a former democrat, union activist, married twice, and reformed conservative like Reagan attracted lots of crossover democrats.

I think you have misidentified the target. But then, that often happens when you have blinders on.

You do realize we have ‘universal coverage’ already?

If I have no money and I walk into a hospital emergency room, they are required by law to see me. That’s how many poor people with no insurance and money get treatment. Many states have dedicated charity hospitals. What’s that existing coverage called?

Trump and Putin supporters have strong daddy will-fix-and-make-everything-better fixation

The Putinistas want Trump in because of his fondness and trust of KGB/FSB Putin, and his acceptance of Putin's expansionism into the Middle East. Putin is on a mission to basically restore the Russian empire (and then-some), and Trump appears to be fully on-board with it.

Your post of troublesome verbatim quotes from the Billionaire pseudo-conservative, are like Pearls to swine as far as his rabid supporters are concerned.
There is no reasoning with simplistic zombies.
Just avoid them.
They need brains.
