The outrage over this mailer reminds me of the fake outrage expressed by the anti gun nuts over the bullseye logo used by Gov. Palin. Political correctness or political opportunism - take your pick.
Uh, no. It was still a leftist rag.
So, let me get this straight. Because all campaigns use this sleazy tool to scare voters, the Cruz campaign is innoculated because everybody does it? And I thought the Cruz folks were of a higher God.
Des Moines is where all the homos live in Iowa, and the Des Moines Register has been a hemorrhoid up Iowa’s butt for a long time.
Cruz or his campaign boss must have been in the threat junk mail biz. The people that create bogus lookalike government mailing documents and add what ever threat they want and mass mail them. The ignorant and old folks mostly bite.
My neighbors could easily find the same information if they cared to. I’m not worried about them. People on this forum have many times looked up people’s donor records to see where they stand politically.
I really think some people are trying awfully hard to find fault with Cruz for reasons other than what they claim is outraging them. Cruz has the most conservative record of any candidate. He is hated by GOPe, the left, Planned Parenthood, etc. The news will report every move he makes as horribly as possible. But they treat Hillary as above reproach. No questions about her email or any of the other thousand crimes she has committed. But Cruz sends a mailer that is provocative and tries to make people feel guilty for not getting involved, BAM, send him to the gulags.
All of the controversy over Cruz is driven by the leftwing hatred for conservatives. I am not falling for it. Neither should you.
So... yawn. Next.
It’s just marketing. Maybe not the smartest, or maybe so. He did win.
I am certainly not going to abandon support for the most conservative candidate in the race because of some news media manufactured outrage.
Conservatives and tea party types are hated by MSM, Planned Parenthood, GOPe, etc. just like Cruz.
They like to treat minor errors like capital crimes and true capital crimes as minor errors. Just take a look at the videos exposing Planned Parenthood. They’re trying to criminalize their investigative journalism. People have been sued and judgments have been awarded for hundreds of thousands of dollars against conservatives for refusing to violate their religious beliefs. One lady went to jail. This list is endless.
Don’t fall for the anti-conservative media charade.
You seriously approve of politicians invading you privacy and sending your personal information to your neighbor in order to win an election.
I find this concept hard to take outside of a totalitarian regime.
But who am I to judge your beliefs?
(Yawn) Good evening
Concur, Spot on!
A poster, that I don't know, implied I was not telling the truth when I said I had received similar flyers through the years....as have people ALL OVER the US. This person asked me to "name them" so I provided documentation that this is NOT a NEW phenomenon. I don't believe you will find ANYTHING in my reply that said I especially "liked" them.
I don't know you either, and have never posted on my religious (or nonreligious) philosophy.... so trying to throw a religious insult at me seems pretty infantile.
I’ve never received one either, and I’m no spring chicken, and AM in a usually competitive precinct.
These letters are supposedly targeted to voters who have not been voting. So if people claim they’ve received them repeatedly...
I believe you may be on to something.
These letters are supposedly targeted to voters who have not been voting.
They say they were very carefully targeted to Carson supporter types.
Roger Stone, Trump op, explained on Infowars that Cruz ops spent a lot of time and $$ pre planning the targeting.
Con men like 3rd rate salesmen use threats, diversions and props motivated by profit and or power. They deal in varying degrees of deceit. They’re everywhere. Ya gotta be careful.
If a campaign, regardless of whose it is, wants to look up my public voting record and then decide whether or not to send me a plug for their candidate, or urge me to vote, that’s fine. Those campaign ads often make good shim stock, anyway.
If a campaign looks up my public voting record and sends me criticism (accurate though it may be) of my voting behavior, I would be pretty PO’d, and especially in a primary situation, would be VERY likely to vote against that candidate. Something about “intimidation”.
If a campaign looks up my public voting record and sends my neighbor criticism (accurate though it may be) of my voting behavior, I would be VERY PO’d, and especially in a primary situation, would very likely WORK against that candidate, as publicly as possible. Something about complete disrespect for the citizen (me), and a middle finger in return not being nearly enough.
If a campaign looks up my public voting record and sends my neighbor criticism of my voting behavior using faked data, I would consider that fraud and slander, and take legal action if possible. (If such behavior by a campaign is not illegal, it darn well should be.) Especially in a primary situation, I would work against that candidate, as publicly as possible, enlist as many friends as possible, and donate to the offending campaign’s opponent.
We got rid of open sewers around most people’s living places, some generations back, because it was practical to do so, and most people did not want to accept that status quo any more...
If letters stating the recipient has a poor record of voting frequency are sent to persons having average or good voting frequency, then the letters are fraudulent.
That said, yes, I know other personal information is mined* to determine political inclination, and such. I’d also read (not sure where) that Cruz spent $3 million, or something like that, in Iowa alone, on this. God knows how much the Dems spent.
*That is something else that bothers me: The data mining of “everyone” in any way possible, for targeted advertising, be it commercial, political, or whatever, is getting out of hand. (See my post regarding tolerance of open sewers, above.)
Agreed.
Cruz has an impeccable record of conservatism.
EVERY conservative rating service says so.
So I am simply suggesting to direct the focus of your efforts on the real enemies. We have a very strong possibility of our next president being an avowed socialist or a known felon.
None of our candidates are perfect, but they are night and day different from the alternatives.
