Yes, I agree with that.
China has disturbances with it’s neighbors too though.
I still say China and Russia are very stupid to aid people who are fully capable of hating them as much as they do us.

“Wipe out Pyongyang and Tehran simultaneously?”
Wouldn’t it be awesome if the NORKS launched a nuke, the guidance system was hacked and it mysteriously blew up Tehran?

Only one thing though: for the North Korean long-range missile to be actually viable, they need to put it in an underground launch silo or on a mobile launcher. The rocket they've shown can only be launched on a "soft" launch pad, requiring hours of time just to fuel up the rocket.
Their smaller rockets such as the Rodong-1 are a much more serious threat, since they are mobile-launched and now have the range to hit most of Japan with a range up to 1,500 kilometers (930 miles). As such, the North Koreans would use the Rodong-1 to specifically target US military bases in Japan with a 20-25 KT nuclear warhead, primarily Sasebo Naval Base, Iwakuni Marine Corps Air Base, Atsugi Air Base (US Navy), Yokota Air Base (USAF), Yokosuka Naval Base and Misawa Air Base (USAF).

10,000,000 residents of Seoul would object to the probable subsequent shelling by 10,000 artillery pieces.

You are right - Chine and NK are joined at the hip and they have been since WWII. The were the major force in Korea when the war was going on in the early 50’s.

Yep, and one more time, what did all that trade buy us?
Now more of the same under TPP.

Have you seen China's launch center? They copied NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Here's a picture: China's Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center

An EMP would cause more devastation.

I would. Bush should have taken out Mecca right after 911. The planet would be very polite today.

Maybe.
Maybe the survivors in North Korea would let out a collective sigh of relief.

Newt mentioned EMP repeatedly last go-round. He’s briefed the military and was consulted by the author of “One Second After.” People should read the book. An EMP strike is so easy, it is inevitable.

Take out Mecca?
Bush wouldn’t even close our border.
He shut down *our* planes but flew hundreds of Saudis out of the country.

Here is the launch path that North Korea used. Southernly launch to avoid overflying Japan.

They could just put an EMP on a Scud and launch from a freighter. This, literally, is not rocket science.

I know. It’s pathetic. We need Curtis LeMay thinking in a CIC. Look him up + Tokyo.

But would they be able to get it past our radar and anti-missile defense system? My understanding is that we’ve got pretty good defense except from the southern hemisphere, and having a satellite that could drop a bomb from the southern hemisphere is our area of vulnerability. Am I understanding that correctly?
Obama has been depleting our military when we’re facing worse and worse threats all the time, and I don’t understand how he can do all this stuff to make us vulnerable without at least SOMEBODY calling it the treason that it is.

Bomber Harris works for me as well.

No arguments. A scud launched from a freighter 3 miles off our coast would get through. We are naive.
