Former president George W. Bush will join his brother former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in South Carolina to campaign.

The two will focus on national security issues in the important Southern state.

"They want a commander-in-chief that will have a steady hand and have a backbone and will support the troops and has detailed plans on how to keep us safe as it relates to Islamic terrorism," Jeb Bush said Wednesday on CNN's "New Day." "Here in South Carolina particularly that's an important issue."

The Bushes were not really bad presidents. But they also were not really good presidents.

Right now America needs a great president. Bushes don’t have that in them.

I liked George W. Bush. He wasn’t perfect, but he was a decent president.

Since Obama got into office W has kept his mouth shut. I thought it was a bit odd but he seemed to do this out of principle.

Now that his brother needs help he is abandoning his principle.

Please, W, stay out of it. If the horrible disasters of Obama were not enough to get you to speak out until now, I really wish you would just stay silent.

W was also silent about Clinton.

Then he and his dad rehabilitated Clinton after the tsunami in Indonesia.

Maybe something was going down in Mena, AR airport in the 1980s.

“Laura. I plan to be attending Jeb’s wake in South Carolina next week. Can you help me pack?”
“Now why do I keep calling it a ‘wake’? I meant to say Jeb’s CAMPAIGN in South Carolina, NOT ‘WAKE’!

Oh, I don't know. Decorum in its best practice would usually dictate one waits for the endorser to say such rather than the endorsee.

Here we will have a former CinC who spent the last 7+ years not uttering one word against the travesty that is Obama and all of the pro-Islamic actions and sentiments he's responsible for. But instead will come and tell us all how Jeb will 'protect' us from Islamic terrorism in the midst of allowing millions of illegals to remain, millions more to come, and unchecked Muslim 'refugee' infiltration here from ISIS?

Brother Jeb is more honestly equipped to be President of Mexico.

The race will come down to 3:

Trump
Cruz
Bush

The squishy voters will coalesce around Bush. Trump and Cruz will split the rest.

Bush could get the nomination.

The only one who can possibly stop him is Trump. He has to get the lions share of the Trump/Cruz block.

Trump has to win many states, especially winner take all states, like Florida.

“Since Obama got into office W has kept his mouth shut”

George W Bush has not “kept his mouth shut.” He has praised Obama and the Clintons.

He has attacked Cruz and other conservatives.

I agree. But the only way Bush wins the nomination is through a brokered convention. A three way split of delegates between Trump, Cruz and Bush would lead to a brokered convention. In that convention, the GOP establishment would support Bush.

“If W couldn't defend himself while he was in office, what the heck can he do for jeb?”

If W wants to get back into the political arena then people should ask him about his policies, Obama’s policies and Clinton's proposals. Make him go on the record about whether the losses of lives and the huge costs in the middle east were worth it. Make him go on the record about Libya and Benghazi. Make him go on the record regarding illegals and lack of controls at the border.
