The Mask Is Off: Trump Blames Conservatives For GOP Betrayals
The Daily Wire ^ | 2/11/16 | Ben Shaprio

On Wednesday, Donald Trump finally came out of the closet: yes, he admitted, he's no conservative, but conservatives are the problem with the country anyway. Here's his tweet:

Trump is half-right - the Republican Party has promised, over and over again, that it would implement conservative policies. Then they reneged, disappointing their conservative base over and over. That's one reason the two leading candidates for the Republican nomination are Trump and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), both hated by the establishment but supported by grassroots conservatives.

Trump. The GOP's version of Obama. Just a different flavor of wielding the pen and the phone.

I think you misread that.

Conservatives (the base) did help elect Republicans that then didn’t do what they said they would do.

Something else he has to “clarify” after the fact?

Anyone in GOP leadership will gladly say they are “Conservative” and then knife you in the back. Gentle Ben will have to try harder than this.

Yeah, look at all the great thing “conservatives” have done in the last twenty years. Try to think of One Single Thing....I’ll wait.

The REAL question is who will you vote for if he's the Republican nominee. Not voting gives us Hillary (same way we got Obama).

It does not matter. Deal with it.

“Conservatives” like Paul Ryan have been a big part of the problem.

You know his tweet is interesting but the article is the same old long hit piece and using a total misread of his tweet just to run the same stuff again.

This is why the Cruz team is failing. Voters see this sort of hysteric, ridiculous absurd spin put on this statement and simply dismiss the source, and the author, as more of the same Political Establishment smear machine.

Remember, it was the Republican Party, with the help of Conservatives, that made so many promises to their base, BUT DIDN'T KEEP THEM! Hi DT

Shapiro is confusing the Rinos on the far right and saying they have the final say on conservatism ?

Don’t think so Ben.

I am voting for Trump because I feel he is the best conservative with the best chance of winning the presidential election.
