I'm not saying Trump is a winner (he'll find a way to lose), but Ted doesn't have very broad appeal.
He makes the mistake of thinking presidential elections have the same voters as midterm elections, and of assuming that most voters are conservative in a movement or ideological way.
Yes, I do believe the national polls on Donald Trump, especially the RCP averages. Donald Trump has the highest negatives of any presidential candidate in the history of polling for negatives!
The RCP averages show him losing to both to Hitlary and Sanders right out of the gate.
And while there is a new poll that shows Trump beating Clinton in a head to head by 3 points, that same poll shows Ted Cruz beating her by 7 points!
But again, the RCP average shows Trump losing to Hillary and Sanders.
The way you guys talk, you’d think Donald Trump is untouchable, but nothing could be further from the truth.
The current crowded and segmented field hides his negatives, and those negatives are HUGE.
In fact, when you line up Ted Cruz’s national favorable and unfavorable numbers and Donald Trump’s numbers head to head, Ted Cruz wins every time.
