I read a Free Republic post from Townhall.com that asserted that Bernie Sanders is a Marxist. Assertions of this sort usually create a discussion defining the labels and titles of the various forms of government control. This may prove a worthwhile endeavor but in the final analysis, it is pointless.
I found a way to satisfy myself that may appeal to others. I don't attempt to define the minutia but instead concentrate on the government I want. As it turns out, I want the same government the founders created when America's Constitution was ratified.
America's Declaration of Independence declared that the reason to institute a government is to secure the people's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of their happiness.
The document also declared that the people also have the right to alter or abolish any form of government that becomes an obstacle to the rights of the people.
Therefore, I do not attempt to define Socialism, Communism, Fascism, or Nazism.
I oppose any form of government that does have as its first priority the obligation to protect the people's rights.
I don't care how you label it, I don't care who invented it, I don't care who it is named after, I don't care who advocates it. If its first and foremost duty is not to protect rights then I want nothing to do with it. I will not support it, I will not defend it, and I will not respect it.
The founders gave Americans a beautifully wrapped gift of extraordinary value but if you don't unwrap and open the gift you won't know how or why to appreciate the gift.

Follow the money. Money is the power. Therefore, free markets is/are the best form for people to be free.
The left dems and the right rinos both are Marxist, and Bernie is a communist who wants to lead America into the pit of hell.
The motto of America’s Middle Class, which gets stuck with the bills for every government program and intervention should be: LEAVE US ALONE.
We know that the elites despise us as inferiors because we did not graduate from their Ivy League schools. We are threatened and shamed into financing this bloated, corrupt government from our dwindling paychecks,and our children are turned against us by the Leftists in government schools paid for with those tax dollars.
The only weapon at this point is the ballot, and it is a puny one. We are sick and tired of being ignored by the frauds whom we vote for in good faith, but who never produce an ounce of relief.

Most of the really successful Marxists have at least a million dead at their hand. Bernie would probably have to at least be elected before he can get his.
Bernie, by any name is bad for the country, period. He needs to go to Mother Russia. Perhaps he will when Donald Trump becomes President.

Exactly. Bernie AND Hillary are STALINists. Marx just had ideas, perhaps goofy and dangerous, but at least they were merely ideas. Stalin on the other hand, had a plan, a cold heart, an army and a machine to back it up. Bernie and Hillary are trying their best to replicate Stalin’s success (?) in Russia.

And by “rights” we mean “negative rights”, those which do not require anyone else’s compulsory involvement. Not to be confused with “positive rights” whereby the government practically enslaves others to facilitate that right.
Your “forget arguing about definitions, just take a stand” intent is laudable, but immediately risks the same problem: Bernie & co would fully agree with your stance, and then compel you to pay for an illegal immigrant’s health care as the latter’s “right”.

We mock and belittle Bernie at our own peril as we did with Obama back in 2008. The empty suit Barak got elected twice.
