Sad....

Obama will put a hardcore leftist on the court. Watch for the GOP to touch their toes again...just like they did with Lynch.

God the Father of Mercies: we pray that you will receive your good and faithful servant home. Please raise up others to replace him.

This Republic has torn itself away from your embrace and forbidden your very name. Please have mercy on us, and pull us back from the edge of night.

+ We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen. +

Why couldn’t it have been Mitch McConnell, Lord? Why this champion of the Constitution? *shudder*

Ted Cruz has the bully pulpit right now, and so does Marco Rubio. It's called the GOP debates, and there is one tonight. Let's see if Cruz and Rubio together can lay down a line in the sand that McConnell dare not cross.

If this is really the GOP year, then Rubio (even more than Cruz) must demand that the Senate leave the seat vacant for one of them on the stage to fill.

To do otherwise would be a betrayal of all Republicans by the Senate Majority Leader. Both Rubio and Cruz must say that. Tonight.

The Senate can, and should refuse to hold hearings on any nominee the President sends over. If they hold committee hearings, they can refuse to hold a vote to move the nomination to the floor.

Ted Cruz should address this tonight, and it can be a point of focus in the election. Not just this seat, but so many more could come open in the span of the next Presidential term... It would be horrific to have Hillary Clinton selecting nominees. The problem is that, in a scenario in which she could win, it is likely that the Senate would tip as well.

This makes the gravity of the campaign, both for the nomination and the general, very real.

Republicans could delay it till next year, but the lure of getting an Amnesty loving Judge in will be to much for the Grubby Money loving Traitors.

This is incredibly consequential considering the 5-4 make-up of the court, and considering that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been widely rumored to be considering leaving the court.

If Obama is able to replace Scalia and Ginsburg the Supreme Court could shift to 3-6 in favor of liberal ideological worldview prior to the end of President Obama’s term in office.

Scalia’s unexpected passing sets up a politically charged battle to replace him. Mere moments after his death was confirmed, Conn Carroll, a key staffer for Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), promised Republicans would block anyone that Obama nominated.

Lord Jesus, rest the soul of Thy servant Antonin with the saints and the angels, and forgive and protect the American nation in this calamity.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.

Scalia was an American hero.

He is to 21st century America what George Washington was to 18th century America.

I fear Scalia will be very badly missed.
