I am quite a bit less optimistic. I expect a sudden confiscation, with full integration to a nationalized SS system. Then watch the socialist dole it out incrementally based on external investment.income.

Honestly, even in a best case scenario, I do not expect to see $1 in social security when I become full eligible in 7 years. SS will be indexed...mark my words.

Well, SS is a long way away from the “trust fund” that was conceived. I see some logic in a person who is making several hundred thousand per year having to defer SS until he actually retires. But, it is wrong.

Neither can I but imho that doesn't make that much difference.  In the link the NR gave they left out (which I showed above) that part was taken out altogether, showing how the Trump folks do understand that they went over the top.
