Trump: I’ll be ‘neutral’ on Israel and Palestine
The Hill ^ | 02/17/2016 | Mark Hensch

Posted on 02/17/2016 7:06:34 PM PST by GIdget2004

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday refused to pick sides in the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

"You know, I don’t want to get into it," he told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski during a MSNBC town hall in Charleston, S.C.

LOL. You think that NATO was established to go to war? What have they conquered in 50+ years?

Do you remember when Ronald Reagan defeated the Soviet Union by going to war?

Because I sure don't. But according to you, he must have.

If you and Trump like neutrality so much, why don't you guys move to Switzerland? Or Sweden? Or Spain?

Because this is the United States and our tradition is not to be neutral. Never had been.

We don't play the moral equivalency game. We don't say NATO and Russia are equally to blame. We don't say Israel and Iran are equally to blame.

You are welcome to your beliefs, but please go to one of the countries that suits your belief.

Everything outside Judaism and contradicting Torah is man made religion.

Only God can identify a Jew.

And we’re everywhere.

Well we don’t put up with articles that lie in the titles. I know you Cruz people are so used to Cruz lying that it has become a natural thing but Trump supporters expect truthful article titles from the media.

Your followers don't care where you stand on 98% of the issues. Just keep repeating "wall" and "door" and they'll continue to follow their pied piper.

In my case, you are a flat out liar...It's the 98% of those issues that attracted me to Trump...The issues that the other candidates refuse to touch...

I wish FR were still "The Premiere *CONSERVATIVE* Site on the Net

As per your tagline, as far back as I can remember FR never supported illegal immigration...For your information, amnesty and H1B visas and allowing muzlim terrorists into the country are NOT the conservative position...Your position obviously is the GOPe position...FR has never chased after the GOPe...

The day we go neutral on ISRAEL and PALESTINE, America will lose big time. IF TRUMP puts them both in the same pot then it’s over this election.Sorry that is ONE issue that hits a nerve with Evangelical believers!!

Did you just wake up from a long nap??? This country has been anti- Israel for the last seven years...

What I hear in this is a GOP candidate who is not a Neo-con but rather a Robert Taft conservative, a Paleo-con.

If an issue does not directly benefit America, walk away.

I know there are moral/ethical ramifications in this posture, but gosh is it nice to hear someone talk this way after years in the Bushes.

A lot will have to do with Israel and whether or not Israel wants to make the deal -- whether or not Israels willing to sacrifice certain things Donald chump. He also got booed when he refused to agree that Jerusalem should be the undivided capital of Israel.. A sovereign country! If he had a plan, he would blab it, so either he doesn't have one, it's an electoral nightmare plan, or he can't even find Israel on the map.

He said.a peace deal is “not doable.” Exactly right. How nice would it be to have a president who doesn’t even bother trying.

“Let me be sort of a neutral guy,” the billionaire added. "I have friends of mine that are tremendous businesspeople, that are really great negotiators, [and] they say it’s not doable.

One of his statements from the article - he's addressing the "Peace" talks and everyone who has a brain know that he and those who he listens to are correct - there will be no peace between the two.

It looks like the article was headlined to give the lazy knee-jerkers the impression that Trump would sit back and allow Israel to be bombed into extinction - something that just ain't true.

Make thyself useful...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate (even if he's "rich enough to do it on his own") as the next President.
I donate to the candidate I support and you should too, else, your "support" really doesn't have any meaning.

It's even worse if you use FR and don't donate. If you are one of those who feel it's OK to use FR daily w/o helping pay to keep the lights on, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit. Also, don't be surprised if others decide that your opinions are as worthless as your non-donations - hypocrites aren't worth listening to.

PS - If you are one of those unlucky few who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

Donate to FR

The pali’s do not recognize Israel right to exist....

Is Trump going to sue them to change their charter?

I was reading an article by Ben Shapiro where he was calling for ethnic cleansing the Palestinian from Israel (though he called Trump's Muslim moratorium to be unethical). When it comes down to it, if Israel doesn't want a deal, there won't be one. Let them sort out their mess if they don't want the US trying to negotiate a deal.

Headline isn't exactly what he said, the neutral comment seemed to be more in the context of functioning as a negotiator, not the US's policy toward Israel. In that context "neutral" is appropriate, though it doesn't require an abandonment of a nation's own values

“You have one side in particular growing up and learning that ‘these are the worst people, these are the worst people, etc., etc.,” he said.

“I was with a very prominent Israeli the other day and he said it’s impossible because the other side has been trained from the time they’re children to hate Jewish people. I’m going to give it a shot."

He seems to get it. If he wants to give it a shot, fine, but US policy shouldn't be too deeply invested in a "neutral" resolution.

Who cares! The only thing that matters is to vote to Trump. Then America will be great.

Anyone who questions this is stupid, fat and a pathological liar bleeding out of, wherever.

He said last night that negotiating with Palestinians is nigh on impossible because they are taught to hate Jews from birth. He’s no fool on this issue.

The issue is pretty much decided any way. There is a defacto Palestinian state. The borders are not cast in stone, but the divided state is in fact reality. There might actually be two states, Gaza and Palestine but they are entities distinct from Israel.

There can be no peace negotiations because there are more than enough militant wackos to make war. The IDF must persist daily to kill them.

There is nothing America can do to resolve the issues. Trump is wise to avoid involvement
