Donald Trump: Roe v. Wade Was “Wrongly Decided,” I Will Appoint Judges to Change It
Life News ^ | FEB 18, 2016 | STEVEN ERTELT

Posted on 02/18/2016 3:19:08 PM PST by Kazan

In the second part of an interview with David Brody of CBN, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he thinks the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that ushered in an era of 48 million abortions was “wrongly decided.” Trump said he would appoint “very good judges” who would ultimately “change it” but he opposed roe without specifically saying it should be overturned.

“It’s been very strongly decided but it can be changed,” Trump told Brody. “Things are put there and they’re passed but they can be unpassed with time but it’s going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.”

This part of the interview with CBN follows a portion that saw Trump commit for the first time to signing a bill to defend the Planned Parenthood abortion business — though the candidate said he still thinks Planned Parenthood does some good things.

Here’s the partial transcript and video of the interview:

David Brody: “Roe V. Wade: do you think it should be overturned and would you put Supreme Court Justices or would you look at Supreme Court Justices that felt that way.”

Donald Trump: “I will put people on that are going to be very very good and constitutionalists and they’re going to do a good job but it’s going to take a long time.” (Partial Transcription)

David Brody: “But beyond judges, do you believe Roe V. Wade was wrongly decided back in the day, back in 1973?”

Donald Trump: ‘Well I do. It’s been very strongly decided but it can be changed. Things are put there and they’re passed but they can be unpassed with time but it’s going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.”

Previously, Trump issued an op-ed condemning Roe v. Wade but stopped short of saying it should be reversed.

You want superficials, go for superficials. Don’t complain about the results.

And I could care less about the Supreme Court nonsense. He had a 5-4 Court so he only had to make sure Kennedy was on his side......not very challenging if you think about it. The filibusters he has done resulted in nothing......Obamacare still here....planned parenthood still financed.

Perhaps he should threaten to sue his opponents for being mean to him.

The next few days will be remarkable here on FR, as all the TDS sufferers flip to pro-abortion (other than those who already were there) to attack Donald Trump. Third Rail Issue ping.

That’s the nature of some Cruz supporters posting here.

If Donald Trump said, “The sun rises in the east”, a handful of Cruz supporters would reply that Trump is lying and only Cruz can tell us when and where the sun rises.

That’s a fair question to ask, but are you willing to eat crow if he sticks to it?

If Donald Trump really does all the great things people think he’s going to do I’ll eat BBQ crow and Fried crow tills the cows come home.

Have to wonder if you’d get that “deer-in-the-headlights” look if somebody asked him about Wickard v. Filburn.

Ha ha! Perfect. Oh, please someone ask him this in the Town Hall tonight. "Mr, Trump, with the current balance of the Supreme Court in question, how would you want your appointees to take on a case that might overturn Wickard v Filburn?"

God Bless Donald Trump and his family. This guy is running for President with mostly his own money and better yet he doesn't need this job. He is running selflessly in order to fix the country.

Exactly. Right on Mark!

But right now, I will take everything that we can get in order to save innocent lives, even if those exceptions are allowed.

It's that exact attitude that absolutely assures the continuation of abortion on demand.

Donald Trump is completely clueless about abortion.

This story serves to further illustrate this fact.

Does it matter what Cruz says about anything since he cannot possibly be elected?

That’s what I think Cruz is. He’ll say anything to get votes, even lie about other candidates and intimidate voters.

I feel the same with Cruz......all talk and nothing done in the Senate. And I could care less about the Supreme Court nonsense. He had a 5-4 Court so he only had to make sure Kennedy was on his side......not very challenging if you think about it. The filibusters he has done resulted in nothing......Obamacare still here....planned parenthood still financed. Cruz really is a talker and not a doer.

I used to respect Cruz. I thought no Senators liked him because he was fighting them to keep his campaign promises. Now, After his initial trade vote, nothing accomplished in the Senate, and all his campaign shenanigans, I don't really believe him any more than Rubio.

I'd always had him second to Trump but he's leaving a bad taste in my mouth the last couple of weeks.

I’m never going to get peregrinate (being a male), but the woman certainly has the right to stop the attack with deadly force if necessary. The pregnancy could be viewed as a continuation of the attack. One could look at it that way. It’s something that the attacker left inside her that is growing... I don’t think that that’s an unreasonable position.

Self defense is not murder...

You don’t think there will be, but will you not coward out and confess? Some of this alleged “flip flopping” is things like defunding the non abortion arm of PP which really isn’t relevant. We do not have a mere binary option here, we have one with many details.

Any taxpayer funding to PP helps pay for the building, the doctor the nurses that does abortions in it. There are not 2 PP their is one and its evil.

These look like marriages of convenience... Donald never was a Romeo. They all split amicably.

_____________________________________________________

Well certainly he seems to like to collect models. In his book he bragged about bedding lots of women who he wasn’t married to.

How you handle a marriage says a lot about the sort of person you are.

“And BTW, most pro-life people agree with him. I don’t, in that I don’t think the incest part should be in there. But I’m OK with the life of the mother and forcible rape.”

Just curious - how is your take in incest different than rape? I would say incest is usually rape since the victim is not in a position to say no.
