If He Wins, Do We Stand With Trump?
RedState ^ | 2/21/2016 | Joe Cunningham

It's the million dollar question as we look to the possibility that Donald Trump is somehow the nominee: Do we as Republicans stand with him? Do we circle the wagons? Do we overlook everything in his past and say "You know what? Better than a Democrat."

The answer, for me at least, is decidedly "No."

But that would be OK with them because then they could rant and rave on FR for another 4 years.

If klintoon wins there won't be an FR in 4 years. There won't be any venues for discussion and verbal dissension because there will be open revolution.

No, Trump really isn't a conservative. It's hard to tell exactly what he is.

He is an American patriot, which may be hard to recognize if one is not really, or no longer, an American patriot himself.

The take away from this thread is that the Cruzaders do not think their boy has a chance....

I admit the odds are growing slimmer for Cruz to pull it out and that come January 2017 we will have a moderate of one stripe or another. But they'll get there without my help.

I voted Cruz in primary. However, if Trump is the eventual
nominee; I will crawl over rough gravel to get to the polls
to vote for Trump over Hitler-y or Bernie either one when
the time comes.

DoodleDawg chooses suicide-by-hillary. Way to go, DD, way to go.

You must think Trump is going to lose. Then vote Cruz for the win. Before it's too late.

Just a thought experiment, what if she did win? What if Bernie?

Would the executive finally be put in check?

No more accusations of racism?

Are these statements to make him unassailable in the general so the Left can't pin him as a "typical right-winger" or are they genuine sentiments of his true worldview?

Forget Trump trying to be unassailable. Trump is supposed to be the guy who isn't politically correct and who isn't afraid to speak his mind.

So when Trump sounds like he's coming from the left, that must be the real him.

So now "Principled Conservatism" means letting your emotions over come your reason. "Whaa either elect my candidate or I will take my ball and go home!"

Sorry wasn't interested when the Left tried to substitute emotion and volume for thought. Certainly am not going to buy those tactics when "Conservatives" attempt to use them.

I'm tired of being told to vote for the moderate-of-the-moment just because he's "electable". If Cruz is not the candidate the I won't be voting for president.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, Cruz was my #1, Trump was my #2, and there was no #3.

Over the past two weeks, I have seen what a Trump presidency would look like: bombastic, bullying, love of country questioned if you disagree with him, and plenty of flip flopping on the issues.

Not that much different than what we've had for the past 7 years, except that Trump will be decidedly more moderate.

My vote will be headed to Akston's Winery at Galt's Gulch. Like DD, I'm not holding my nose anymore, and the Trumpeteers say they don't need me, so I'm cool with that.

Your whole post shows that you’re not more conservative than Reagan.

That being said, however, the only reason I will pull the lever for Donald is that I can hope and pray that the Donald will appoint pro-life justices, I know neither of the socialists will.

In every other way, DT is the antithesis of what the person who is chosen as chief executive should be.

Yep, I’m not a Cruz guy, in fact, I’ve gone from liking him a lot to actively disliking him, but I would vote for him in a heartbeat if he got the nomination.

I am a Cruz guy but would vote for Trump if nominated. Or Rubio or Carson or even Kasich. Anyone who sits out and lets the Dems have it is not worth spit.

“Your whole post shows that you’re not more conservative than Reagan.”

In pursuing his policies, Reagan was a protectionists. His actions differed a bit from his rhetoric. That was a necessity.

Ditch the bold font, Goebbels, we get your point. We may not agree, but we get it.

Very well, Neville, have it your way:

;-)

The talking heads still don't get it. In large part, America has figured it out. For the last quarter of a century, WE the Republic, have been denied the choice to say NO to socialism.

It has been a setup. The fix was always in. We, the Republic, have been loosing a war of financial attrition for decades. We, the Republic are engaged in a war with those who govern us. Drastic measures are required to defeat this enemy in order to stop the bleeding that each of us are seeing in the depreciation of our savings, the constant onslaught of taxes, fees, and licenses. Each of them designed to remove our ability to live free.

If a slave is a person who works for no money, then a paid person who works with no money left for savings or investment is therefore a slave.

The Communists are very good at planning each move, they have been at it for over sixty years, to bury us. They are so close to succeeding.

Trump has stepped in and has sensed our rage.We want to throw our shoes into the machinery. We want to turn over the apple carts and toss tea into the harbor. Trump is giving us a voice. He is giving our children and grandchildren a fighting chance of enjoying the life that our parents fought and spilled blood in Europe and Japan so as to impart liberty to ourselves.

No, we will no longer hide in the shadow of political correctness.

No, we will no longer stand idle in the face of the globalist Red Menace.

No, we will not play the game of choosing which Socialist will rob our children.

No, we will not play the game of choosing which Socialist will import an army of decapitating, lawless, savages into our home to eradicate Freedom and the American Way.

ANY and EVERY politician who will not build a wall is declaring he/she DOES NOT CARE IF YOU DIE!

I do not think Trump is a conservative.

I do not think Trump is morally pious and pure.

I do not think Trump is void of indiscretions or mistakes.

I do believe that any candidate that is a true conservative, morally pure, pious, and has walked the straight and narrow...would not stand a chance against the the globalist red menace that is systematically deconstructing our nation.

No, far from it.

Right now we need our own paladin of chaotic malice with a depraved sense of overly vengeful justice that will stand not for giving quarter. Right now we need our own Son of a Bitch glorious bastard, faults and all. We need to stomp out the treachery of political correctness that perpetuates racial discontent and has created Europe-istan, a Nuclear Iran, as well as ushering in a new world order of penniless servitude consisting of the entire earthly population bowing to but a few of the elite socialist megalomaniacs.

We need our own monster.

Ted Cruz may well be as advertised. No one knows. Four years ago, no one knew who he was.

He is young, deploy the Trump Bomb now, it is an ugly weapon of mass destruction that will result in some collateral damage, but it is required.

Alas, we have run out of time.

It will take many Ted Cruz clones to restore order in the aftermath.
