After disappointing finishes in presidential nominating contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, Jeb Bush suspended his campaign for president Saturday night.
It was the end of a run that had seemed doomed for months: countless gaffes, merciless attacks from the likes of Donald Trump, seemingly limitless spending from a superPAC he couldn't control with horrible returns from those investments and perhaps above all, a candidate who seemed uncomfortable on the trail at best, and at worst, frustrated and unhappy.
Already, the post-mortems are almost writing themselves.

The only Bush I am aware of who is trying to have a political career is George P., and I doubt he is going to excite anyone greatly in the future. He has already racked up negative press and his political career in Texas may end sooner than he thinks if he continues to annoy or underwhelm the folks in the Lone Star state.
Any English-speaking American who claims THE ONLY language spoken at his house since the day he got married is Spanish, is a WIMP! Wimp is written all over him. Thank God he’s been knocked out of the race.

No, I backed George HW Bush harder than I had ever backed a candidate before, so *I* didn't cut off my nose to spite my face. You know who did? It was George HW Bush who did that.
All he had to do was tell the Democrats to go F*** themselves rather than agreeing to a tax increase, but Mr. Compromise decided to sell his future down the river along with his entire party.
It's because of people like George HW Bush that people think there's not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties.
George HW Bush destroyed the Reagan legacy, and left his party in the Wilderness by horribly damaging it's brand.
