Well, maybe you should enlist the POPE to run. How’s that for an answer to you!

"Evangelical Christians must understand that to seriously support Trump is to politically forget that morality is to be prized over earthly power; that divine virtue is greater than human strength."

I am tire of all the 'Pontificating' and utter bullsht that people are spouting in their 'holier than thou' that they think needs to happen just to get RID of illegals and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

I wonder how many FR people - who were appalled when Obama told his supporters to “get in the face” of opponents - are now applauding Trump when he says he would like to punch a heckler? Probably quite a few.

Actually, it is pretty typical of blind Trump followers who can allow zero criticism.

Because The Lord would never use someone like Trump for His own purposes.

The article itself is kind of the standard “my moral judgement is the best judgement so you should vote the way I tell you” fare, but some of the conversation in the comments is pretty interesting.

Thanks for sharing!

Evangelicals, as well as the public in general, are wary of he who wears his religion on his sleeve.

The “God sent me to.....” whatever too often is the theme of either the misguided or the con man.

Actually, I think the Lord makes it clear in His Word that He uses both good and evil to accomplish His purposes; however, there is a promise to the believer in Romans 8:28:

...”God causes all things to work together for good to thosewho love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

It might be that people are tired of losing. Trump comes across as someone who might actually be able to win the election, and that in itself is a big thing. I'm sure if someone 'cleaner' had come up and massively dominated the last 6 months, they'd have gone for him/her. Unfortunately, the only 'cleaner' people were Cruz, Carson, Santorum and Huckabee, and none of those managed to suck all of the oxygen in the room. Trump's candidacy has not just been about getting rid of an Establishment that uses and then ignores voters, and it's not even been about 'anger' (although there's a lot of that). It has ALSO been about who has gotten the pulse of the people (which gets mistaken as more 'anger' when it is actually things like job insecurity, terrorism, illegal immigration, etc - for example, if there was a terrorist attack in the US you could virtually guarantee Trump's election). Another area is the aforementioned winning - people want someone that they feel can win.

Evangelicals think there are only five basics of faith, when there are a multitude.

Evangelicals think the Pope is the Antichrist and the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon.

So if Evangelicals think Trump is the Second Coming, that should be expected.

You see it’s so simple, if you consider yourself evangelical and you support Trump, then you are BLIND!

Whereas, if you consider yourself evangelical and support anybody but Trump, then you’re likely ENLIGHTENED and ALL-SEEING, and probably smart too!

Ok? Clear now?

I notice a number of these “shaming” articles are starting to pop up from our side to those supporting Trump. The shame belongs to the entire Republican elected class who haven’t done diddly squat to push back against the left’s all out assault on America.

Electing Obama was the sin, electing Trump will be the punishment.

Yes, Steve you are starting to get it. Only it is not “quite a few” it is basically everyone with common sense and normal emotions and not just Trump supporters. If you say that you wouldn't feel the same way in a similar situation... I question your honesty.

I have never had any desire to try and “get in the face” of an Obama supporter, something which Trump has never encouraged. But if someone is inside a venue paid for by my candidate heckling, being disrupted and violent towards other people in the crowd... I haven't got any problem with someone feeling like that heckler deserves to be punched in the face. I will go on record as saying that I have no problems at all with anything that Trump said. It was an honest reaction and factually correct. He said that was how he felt, but that we don't do it that way anymore.
