I started out pretty much a blank slate on Ted.

He was touted as being a good guy, and I pretty much went with it at first. Then over time I saw the ugly side of his supporters and some things I didn’t care for in Ted.

At one point I realized it was going to be hard for me to back him for anything.

I looked up some things about him. I watched his crewz spin, insult, attack, get vulgar with, and pull the x-rated stuff out to try to chase folks off the forum.

Then I watched Ted’s antics around the Iowa Caucus and since.

I have accepted long ago that Trump had some flaws. He never told me different. He never claimed to be a saint. He did claim to have changed his mind on things, and over time I have come to believe him.

His kids are very impressive, and they helped.

Ted on the other hand did make claims to me. He told me he was always a good Conservative, knew the Constitution and always stayed true to it, and was quite the Christian guy.

He told me he did certain things to help Conservatism, but the stories didn’t add up if you looked into them.

To me, Ted is as phony as a $3 dollar bill.

I don’t trust him. I don’t think he has up to speed on the things that need to be done. His job experience doesn’t look like a resume that is completed to me.

So Trump it is.

I know this drives some folks to think I’m on loan from D. U., but to my way of thinking Ted isn’t exactly Free Republican material. And that’s a reality they will not accept, even though it’s irrefutable.

Good post.
I’m not quite as negative on Cruz as you are.

But when I pointed out Cruz got a lower percentage of the vote in Texas in Nov 2012 than Mediocre Mitt, the Cruzers told me I was a moron.

Well, by their standard you are.

Sadly, they have pretty much inverted the scale, so you’re in pretty good standing.

Migrants have taken so many low wage jobs that remained along with driving wages down. Fruit of the Loom who was the major employer in this community has slowly been moving their production south of the border .

What's you are describing is Free Traitor™ Utopia. What's wrong with you?

I'm all for kicking out illegals theoretically I guess. But selfishly, I’d rather not pay $5 for an avocado or $50 for a $20 bottle of wine because those CA industries will now have to try and employ Americans

It is stupidity like this that makes the GOPe a "has been" party. The party of work Americanis won't do party. Is it hard to type with that bug up are a$$?

The reduction is production costs moving off shore goes to increase the profit margin not the consumer.

They have a constant need to ship in foreign workers.

There is a a salary to match every position in the USA with an American to fill it. No need to import people when there are 100 million unemployed.

I thought then that I had witnessed the passing of an age, as with all the environmental hoops today, those factories were NEVER coming back.

It wasn't the EPA that closed those factories it was greed and the attraction of third world labor. Getting to sell in a first world market paying third world wages is a good gig if you can keep it.

Bunk. Those factories moved for cheap labor. The EPA and OHSA were use as scapegoats to fool "movement conservatives" into thinking selling out America was a good thing. Fools.

Thanks Rush for playing your part.

That’s a sensible solution.

However, you can’t issue temporary visas when the government refuses to do immigration enforcement, or a temporary visa is effectively a permanent one.

If those razed facilities were uneconomic 20 years ago, it's not going to make any sense to try and rebuild them from the ground up today, of course.

It wasn't the environmental problems that shut them down, it was, as central_va commented, "greed and the attraction of third world labor. Getting to sell in a first world market paying third world wages is a good gig if you can keep it."

Aye, there's the rub - when most are living hand-to-mouth, there's no disposable income left for anything but necessities.

We haven’t had free trade in this country since the 1930s. The supposed “free trade” you talk about is a scam on the American people, and it sure isn’t free.

I addressed the lack of jobs and economic growth; That was pretty much the main point of my comments. But the birthrate for non-immigrant Americans is low, and declining. Unfortunately, since we’ve rigged Social Security as a Ponzi scheme, keeping it alive, as well as ensuring we have enough new workers ten, twenty and thirty years from now requires immigration. Either that, or current Americans need to start having much larger families.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. You are giving in to a false hood. Birth rates go up and down and when prosperity returns they shoot up. Get back to prosperity and we have more babies.

GO Trump, go!
