The Republican frontrunner often complains that he's been dismissed by the media. But it's not him that the pundits are contemptuous of; it's his supporters
Donald Trump's victory in the Nevada Republican caucus wasn't even a close one; he reportedly led in practically every demographic (and listed them in his victory speech). Evangelicals, young, old, Hispanics, the highly educated and "the poorly educated" they all loved him on Tuesday night.
Hispanics? Yes, even Hispanics, even after that line about "drugs and rapists".
And though establishment toffs like to issue signifying snorts about Trump voters being predominantly "poorly educated", in the minutes after the caucus even CNN started to come around to the most elusive explanation: Trump's popularity isn't about his supporters' education, their religion or the policies they'd like to see enacted. Trump is popular because of his supporters' anger.
Anger isn't something that Beltway pundits recognize, let alone understand because everyone employed in media or in politics in and around Washington DC is pretty well off. Even ink-stained wretches pull down five-figures - and, unlike everywhere else in America, since journalism is built on documenting nonsense, there's some real job security in documenting Washington. Television people fare even better, because TV money is stupid money. Thinktank malefactors reap great sums from the aggrieved heartland or from industries looking to build a canon of falsified data, and Congress and the attendant lobbying is a helluva racket...

BTTT...
But I have to admire the writing:
"As tacky and thuggish as it might be, Trump plays the hero to people that the wise warriors of the system have abandoned. He's the ultimate Gary Stu character: a billionaire beholden to no one and able to abuse every disingenuous and pettifogging remora latched headfirst on the nation and sucking upward."
An absolutely great line.

A very good post by Jeff Head,
There are a few posters on both sides that are trying to get Freepers all fired up and divided.
Jeff Head is a Cruz supporter, and I agree with him.
God Bless
I think it’s a two step process. Right now we can’t even have a rational discussion on a national basis about the direction of the country because the conservative voice has been smothered with political correctness and name calling. Trump is breaking that barrier. The debate that follows once the chains of PC have been broken will probably be loud and boisterous and go in many directions until it settles down. A new leader may emerge.
Saw a story on the news last night where a school board voted to provide condoms to middle school children.
The parents were at the meeting, but they were ignored, the professionals know what is best and over the parents objections plan on going forward with it.
This is going on all over America. No, not a school board providing condoms to children over the parents objection, but the fact public servants doing what they think best, even when the people object.
Our governments at all levels are out of control.
More laws, more regulations, more taxes, it is never enough.
I have to wonder over the intelligence of all those that keep making anti-trump postings (keep it up it does not bother me), but wonder how they miss the real message behind Trump.
It is not Trump the man people are supporting, it is the message he is sending. So while the man may be flawed, the message is not.
Trump is the earthquakes that precedes a volcanic eruption, the eruption will come if the message is not heard by those in power today.
The American people want our borders secure.
The American people want illegals deported.
The American people want restrictions on out of control regulatory bodies.
Everyone has their own list, but it boils down to less government in our life.
And please, can we either win the war, or just bring our troops home.
How many of our brave young people sacrifice so politicians can feel macho?
No body likes him, then you should be happy he will not win the nomination.
Worse than Bush? Now that is something.... So the “only he can win” crowd are delusional?
I had hopes also.
Win many people over with those kinds of posts?
Not even trying to.
Just stating facts. Do with it what you will.
“his signature promises and certainly not the consequences if he keeps them”
We prefer your dreaded CONSEQUENCES to the status quo moron!
