The Week - UK ^ | February 24, 2016

Donald Trump has won the Republican caucus in Nevada with a comfortable majority, his third consecutive victory on the road to his party's nomination for the White House.

Although there is still some way to go until the presidential election in November, pundits have already begun to speculate what the US would be like under "President Trump".

If he won, the property tycoon would be the first US leader to have never held public office or served at a high level in the military, the says BBC's Anthony Zurcher.

"Because his election would be without precedent, it's difficult to predict what a Trump administration would look like," he adds.

Another thing that makes a Trump presidency so hard to picture is that his platform is so thin, Ryan Cooper writes for The Week US.

On his campaign website, the businessman only lays out five positions: reforming immigration, trade, tax, care for veterans and protecting gun rights....

There’s little reason to suspect this will be the case.

"This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING b******* has got to stop. Our planet is freezing," he tweeted in 2012.

Nice!

I think Trump would enforce existing immigration laws and build the wall, and get better trade deals. He'd also rein in the EPA.

America is a truly free nation. As such she will always renew herself.

Trump represents a renewal.

Obama was a psychopomp who divided American from American, and who attempted to destroy American conventions and American institutions. Obama failed.

We will enter a period of renewal and growth, unfettered by ideology or political correctness. The left and their liberal fascist running dogs are about to be shown into the dust bin of history.

I hope Trump can change the dialogue and mindset, in every “community”, from “you didn’t build that” to “if you don’t build it, it won’t get built” ... a return in a way to “ask not what your country can do for you” ...

If trump keeps his promises then it will look very good, if Trump doesn’t it won’t look good at all.

I am a Cruz supporter, but if trump gets the Nom i hope to hell he keeps his promises. If he does, I will apologize publicly in a Free republic Vanity Thread of personal humiliation on March 1st 2018 for supporting Cruz.

I hope to hell I am forced to Apologize on March 1st 2018.
