Wonderful comment.
Besides looking for a savior, I think people desperately want to believe that they are a part of something important. That they MATTER. As a Christian, I know that meaning and purpose can only be found in Christ. Believing in any man, even Trump, can only lead to despair.

I agree entirely. Our unchurched, secularized culture is totally at the mercy of demagogues. People have forgotten - “put not your trust in princes or in the sons of men.”
Trump is no savior for sure but who else can win the presidency? With a mostly sane electorate Cruz would do just fine—or Santorum for that matter. The governments of mankind have been flawed and Trump is a man with flaws but he’s the horse to ride on now and none other. Let’s hope he’s a useful workhouse of production in DC and not just another worthless old steed good only for the glue factory. I voted for Trump here in Tx. If he turns out to scrooge us conservatives I will repent and regret my vote for him but for now I’m giving him a chance.
