In general, the Danish Vikings went to Britain and Normandy, the Norwegians went to Northern Britain, Iceland, Greenland and North America, the Swedes went to Russia and possibly all the way to the Arab world.

Yeah.

Though my favourite Viking. Harald Hardraada made his fortune serving in the Varangian guards in Constaninople killing plenty of muslims before becoming King of Norway and attacking England at the same time as William the Conquerer.

Different weather those days, and we might have been looking at a global viking empire :)
