Read that book,so I know all about that, but another good post.

During Washington's second term, Jefferson, who detested Washington, by that time, knew that he could go after George, so he went after Hamilton, viciously, because he was Washington's protege and right hand man.

The entire Whig Party went hammer & tin gs after Andy Jackson and his wife; calling them bigamists and she a whore. She died shortly after Andy won and he never did forgive the pols who went after them and publicly said that the WHIG PARTY HAD MURDERED HIS WIFE.

Hmmm, that is exactly why I am for eliminating corp. taxes.

What, give them what they want before they raise a movement, and a martyr (John Brown), and then an army, and come kill you?

Talk about the politics of deference.

And by the way, corporations DO NOT pay taxes, their customers do.

Yes they do. They can try to recoup by raising prices, but if I don't patronize them, I don't pay, and they remain legally bound and liable for their taxes. Big difference.

Of course you guys want to slough off on us -- directly, bindably, permanently. But we aren't stupid, that's why you're stuck with your own taxes until you can find a sucker.

Yes they do.

NO they don't. A corporation has zero money until a customer purchases their products ergo the customer is the one who pays the taxes.

Yes they do. They can try to recoup by raising prices,

Thanks for proving my point....kind of hare to be competitive when you have to raise your prices to recoup costs.

You can boycott them all you want but it doesn't change anything.

and they remain legally bound and liable for their taxes. Big difference.

No difference, the only differences are the amounts paid.

Of course you guys want to slough off on us -- directly, bindably, permanently.

What ever, I'm a free market anti government type, you sound like you enjoy the power politician wield with their tax schemes.

I support Cruz over any establishment pos running, but I'm under no illusion he is without flaws ..... We keep this up, say hello to a brokered convention and another rino getting shoved down our throats...then we can all say madame potus.

For the record, I agree completely. Cruz is the better man.

Problem is, and I don't know the answer to the problem yet, 1) People worry about Cruz's "electability", that he is vulnerable to the kind of attack Trump has brought; 2) This despite his polling better against Hillary than Trump does, who one would think instinctively would be the more effective candidate to run against the smear-loving Clinton Media Machine (item: partisan Clintonista spies like Little Georgie Steponallofus embedded in powerful positions in media).

Too, consider that the Obama Regime, which has a clear track record of underhanded smear politics (Jerry Ryan, Herman Cain), hardballing (Gov. Bobby Jindal and the "Macondo" blowout, Obamacare), open bribery (the "Louisiana purchase"), and, arguably, murder (Kam Kuwata, Andrew Breitbart), will take a hand in the election, as witness Obama's declared decision to remain in Washington after he leaves office -- presumably he'll still be working with Al Sharpton as an Alinskyite "Master of the Mobs" and working with the Black Caucus to pressure GOP pols. But with a stake in the outcome and a dog in the fight (congressional investigations, possible indictment), the Regime will fight hard against any GOP nominee with all the dirty tools at their disposal, and Woodstein working for them not against them.

That was not my point AT ALL, one bit, not even close or approaching that, not even same universe of discussion. So ... No firsts. Regret that that is what you took from it .... Don’t believe that could be taken without significant projection onto the words.

Good post, thank you. People today would be surprised by the savagery of newspaper political wars in the 19th century, in the days of the old Republic, pre-Civil War.

The real corruption is in the liberals like the late Molly Ivins, a newspaper columnist, reporter, and drinking buddy of the late Gov. Ann Richards (Miss "Silver Foot") back in the 90's and 80's. Ivins was chosen by a TV network to cover the Republican Convention in 1988 in Houston, where she wrote razor-blade slasher pieces about George H.W. Bush daily.

Ivins showed her rot when she wrote about the godawful Lyndon Johnson that he was "a miserable human being, but he was soo good on the issues!"

There's your rot, right there. Black, blebby, and pustular.

Au contraire, I quoted you verbatim. Word for word. I read your plain words in black ink on white paper (figuratively), and that's what they mean in English.

And to top it off — the Clinton scandals. I won’t take a book to cover them. It will take an encyclopedia!
