The people get the government they deserve. Right now, we deserve a Reality Show president. It grabs peoples' attention and makes them pay some attention to politics. It's the only thing that make some people pay attention to politics. And Trump is not a wonk. He works in bold colors, and we are a nation which largely lacks the ability to engage in critical thinking or to weigh nuances.

We deserve Trump.

Going beyond what Rush touched on there, Bush allowed not only himself, but the office, and Conservatives at large to be attacked without so much as a whimper.

That asshole fought tooth and nail to win the office, and then what?

Here was a guy that was supposed to be our voice, the voice defending freedom and sound ideals, and he turned out to be a marble mouth mute.

WTH did he run for?

Yes Bush did some good things. I don’t give a damn. That was his job. His job was also to lead, to voice sound principle in the face of attacks.

Defend the office? Represent the office well?

WTH is he kidding? He allowed the office to be demeaned, while he was lost in a cloud 75% of the time.

As I said, what did he run for if he didn’t want to defend the office and the nation from constant Leftist attack?

This went so far that he didn’t demand Congress avoid the melt down. He just let it happen.

I get so angry when I think of the eight years that guy wasted, with the opportunity of my lifetime, a Congress in his pocket, and nothing but air in his head.

And we have a reality star running. The Chinese, or somebody, have a saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” We can say, when the culture is debased, the reality star will appear. Can anyone, for or against Trump, argue that he is not a man of the times?

You make a strong point.
I still like W Bush but he was a liberal punching bag.

That’s why I enjoy Trump the human version of the Phalanx CIWS.

“everybody is trying to figure why it is that the American public is not repulsed by this, why they’re not worried”

Maybe it’s because we don’t `revere’ any branch of government, but particularly the presidency.

People tend to go overboard when they have pent up thoughts on something like this, so I accept that I was very strong there.

None the less, I think a lot of Conservative leaning people are thrilled to see Trump take folks on, perhaps not even realizing why.

I think it’s why other folks being attracted to Trump. His presentation of reasoned goals is appealing.

Bush could have been so much more. I was so frustrated during his days.

You have to speak up to sell your ideas. Trump is. Go Trump!

Idiocracy is coming to life. President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho was a fictional character who told Congress: "Shit. I know shit's bad right now, with all that starving bullshit, and the dust storms, and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings. But I got a solution."

After seven years of Obama's presidency and this winter's low-brow GOP primary campaign, such oratory no longer feels beneath us.

Trump is not individually responsible for the circus and the degree of reverence. The media, including Kraut and Rush, have to take a lot of credit too. Other candidates as well.

Probably true, but considering what we have had as Presidents is it any wonder why?
