I don’t think this will work. But, it’s not for the strategy. I’ve been looking at the polls and counting the numbers. As much as I may want it to happen, I don’t think Ted can defeat Hillary in the general, and Trump has a better chance. Trump has a much greater support from a much wider cross section of voters than Cruz does. There are many things about Trump that concern me. (However, the wall isn’t one of them. I think that can be done.) But, in order to vote for Trump, you have to believe that a zebra can change it’s stripes, because he has been on the other side of some of these issues in the past. I just don’t think a 69 year old businessman from New York is going to do an about-face on some of these issues.

Also, I think Cruz supporters are ignoring an elephant in the room. Evangelical or not, most women do not like someone telling them what they can or can’t do with their own bodies. I don’t think Cruz will capture nearly as many votes from women as Trump will. And, if the caucuses and primaries so far are any indication, there are many evangelicals that don’t like people telling them what to do with their wallets, either, and are trusting Trump in that respect.

If Ted gets the nomination, he will get my vote. I just don’t think he can beat Hillary or Bernie, and their army of multiple-voting dead democrats.

I think that Marco needs to pull out and simply
endorse Cruz as Mike Lee suggests.
Bargaining and bribing don’t cut it with me...

Probably, but as a Cruz supporter, I'd rather see him eventually on the Supreme Court if he's not topping the ticket.

I'm not targeting your opinion, it makes sense in a way. I just don't understand how we got to a place where first term senator's were considered qualified for either the Supreme Court or the Presidency.

I agree. Trump is NOT the divisive one here. THEY are. They forced him to join their camp, and now they want to assassinate him. He’s playing by THEIR rules!! What a bunch of girlie pink things they are!

I think Rubio is toxic. I could more see Cruz & Kasich do that.

My tagline hasn't changed in months, but I'm not a big fan of Rubio being on the ticket. He doesn't have the work ethic I look for in a leader.

Kasich? That may work. Heck, if Kennedy and Johnson were able to team up, why not? I'm not sure if Kasich has sufficient "attack dog" in him, though.

I disagree - I think anyone with some smarts and a clear message, along with the general trashing of Hillary’s name could win.
She is extremely flawed. If someone has the guts to destroy her, she is a wounded tank on the battle field.
I think Cruz could do it and trump too, not sure about Rubio.

Yes. But There are surprisingly few real Hillary supporters. Most D’s definitely resent having her shoved down their throats again and they’ll vote for almost anyone else. Right now that means Bernie and Trump Whether Biden or Mystery Meat tries to mAke a late entry into the D nomination race remains to be seen. Right now most D’s would vote for Bernie ( whose politics are about same as Hillary’s, he’s in the race and he looks more honest then Hillary the Liar) And some D’s would vote for Trump. Depending where, what voter group, Hillary could come in third in that little contest, which is why I still think that the non- hijacked part of the D party boss machine will find a way to ditch her in favor of almost anyone else they can get ——we will see.

Am I missing something? Has Trump been in any form of political office? If that’s what your basing your qualifications on...

I think Cruz is being surrounded by people who are going to play him like an old Hammond organ. Not sure if Rubes can be resurrected.

She’s got the Superdelegates. Bernie ain’t getting in unless indictment before. The Superdelegates give her a huge advantage.

If Bernie somehow gets close, she’ll take him for a walk in Ft. Marcy Park.

I don't think political office has anything to do with it. I think life does. 16 of the 17 candidates who started this process have positioned themselves professionally only to be elected for something. I find that problematic.

“Trump / Bolton”

It will be Trump/Kacish. Bet money in Vegas on that. Kacish brings Ohio to Trump and in return Trump has someone relatively intelligent that can actually help Trump with governing and going to state functions.

Ideology is out the window this election. Abortion, gay marriage and social issues are on the back burner. This is about taking America back, then fixing everything that is wrong with it.

While Cruz is my guy, I think Trump will be more forceful at getting things done. I see Cruz as another GWB. He will rise above the political fray as President and be condemned for it. This election is a street fight and in a street fight, no one better than Trump.

"Correct me if I am wrong, but the whole point of the primary process is to nominate someone who actually has a chance of WINNING!"

This is not a correction to your statement ObozoMustGo2012. But note that the entire election process is a corruption of constitutional procedures for electing a president, general voters originally having only the power to vote for members of the House of Representatives.

What’s happening, imo, is that corrupt federal politicians are fighting like dogs fight over a bone to get control of 10th Amendment-protected state powers and associated state revenues which the corrupt feds have stolen from the states. They’ve stolen state powers and associated revenues by means of unconstitutional appropriations bills, bills which Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Remember in November !

When patriots elect Trump, Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president, but also protect the states from unconstitutional federal government overreach.

Also, consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

If it came down to Trump v. Hillary, then the only thing Hillary would have to do is continually air Trump's own soundbites and she would win in a landslide.

I'm not so sure about that. Given what we've seen of her campaigning both in the past and this year, she's absolutely horrible at it. I think Trump would beat her regardless of what the polls are saying. One think I've noticed about Trump and what his supporters say about him is that he really does seem to be a Rorschach candidate. People project on to him what they'd like to believe. It's an interesting phenomina IMO. I'd prefer Cruz, but could live with Trump, just because of how disruptive to the PTB. It is the disruptiveness that both parties fear more than anything. THey have a nice little scam going and don't want it to be upset by anything.

Understood. I think super delegates can still be bought? Not they Bernie would do it but there are huge money interests that might (?) behind the scenes. Or maybe they’ll just tell Hillary that it’s time to ( criminal) lawyer up and she’ll drop out. Or yes I could be wrong. Right now I do fully agree with you. It looks like Hillary has it pretty well rigged
