Hillary Clinton apologized Friday for praising the late Nancy Reagan’s response to the 1980s AIDS crisis on the day of the former first lady’s funeral.
Hillary had said, “It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS in the 1980s.” Clinton added, “With [Nancy’s] very effective, low-key advocacy…it penetrated the public consciousness and people began to say: we have to do something about this too.”
The comments were not well received on the Left.

Why did she even go to the funeral? Whose votes does she think she will get for that? Her base would have loved it if she dissed Mrs Reagan.
I was there in the 80’s. It came out [aids]. It was talked about. It was diagnosed and means of transmission accurately described. Nobody was trying to hide anything except for the homosexual connection.

Reagan was right. Passing out condoms to school children encourages them to have early sex. And if you have sex with someone who has AIDS, there’s about a 10 percent chance you can catch it even with a condom.
And most AIDS is passed on by homosexuals with their peculiar behavior. encouraging more people to be homosexual also helps spread AIDS.
Countries that try to limit sex to married couples and discourage unlimited sexual activities and homosexuality have much lower AIDS rates.
Reagan didn’t see why we should spend taxpayer dollars to encourage MORE AIDS related behavior.
Millions of people have AIDS in Africa because the UN and Planned Parenthood have encouraged them to catch it.

She apologized for saying that the Reagans were strong supporters for HIV/AIDS research. The fact of the matter is that the Reagans weren’t. Clinton apologized for getting it wrong.
