Ryan huddles with GOP donors

PALM BEACH, Fla. ― House Speaker Paul Ryan met Thursday night at a pricey French restaurant here with some of the party’s biggest donors to assess a political landscape dominated by one vexing question: what to do about Donald Trump.

The dinner was a highlight of a secretive two-day conclave, convened under heavy security by a donor group headed by New York hedge-fund manager Paul Singer, that is being viewed as a pivotal moment for the big-money effort to block Trump from the Republican presidential nomination.

Sources familiar with the gathering said it was not intended to rally a last-ditch, anti-Trump cabal — and that, in fact, there was a diverse array of opinion represented among the donors in attendance. Some seemed open to supporting Trump if he wins the nomination, while others are backing his remaining rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich.

But many of the two dozen or so donors in attendance ― including Singer and Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts ― have given millions to super PACs devoted to attacking Trump or supporting his now-vanquished rivals, including Marco Rubio, Scott Walker and Jeb Bush. Now, however, it’s becoming increasingly likely that efforts to derail Trump by defeating him in primaries and caucuses are futile.

They so deserve destruction.

It is amazing--yet ANOTHER secret enclave to defeat Trump, in addition to the island soiree a few weekends ago.

Too bad the GOP never put this effort into working to protect our country in the last 25 years and doing their jobs.

They'd better be careful with these confabs

If Trump gets to the convention with 1237 and the rules change to deny him the nomination, or Kasich stays in (only because he is a paid spoiler and a closet commie, if so), or if any other shady occurrence happens ... I would be part of an extreme rebellion I believe would rock the world

These particular individuals might not be on the list, but if I were a corrupt GOPe lobbyist or politician, I would lawyer up for the upcoming Clinton DoJ political corruption investigations.

Is this to mean the Hillary campaign?

It seems like you don’t want to acknowledge the corruption within the Republican Party ranks. The RNC/GOPe is a huge problem that needs to be eradicated before any meaningful change can come.

You may have noticed that the Republican controlled Congress has all the Constitutional power to stop and/or reverse anything the obama people have done to us, but have abrogated their responsibilities. In fact they have given the communists carte blanche.

There is little more exotic and intriguing than a carefully guarded secret.

I am beginning to dislike the GOPe even more than I dislike Hillary.
Honest to goodness they are some despicable and nasty little weasels.

Who do these traitors think they are? Trump has flushed the quail out of the brush so we can draw a bead on the enemy. None of these Anti-American conspirators give a damn about We the People, who happen to be the American government.

This is looking more and more like tyranny to me. It is looking more and more like Trump is representing what true conservatism is and is determined to take us back to what we once were when our nation was peaceful and thriving. Now, both parties follow the money and power, the people be damned. A Republican official said so just a couple of days ago. He said the voters would not be selecting the nominee. We are terminal if Trump is hounded out of this race by the criminals who now populate the halls of our government and the media which is the foundation of their power. Allow lawyers to take things over and this is what you get. They have no morals or logic. It is always “the end justifies the means,” with them. Have you heard this a.m. on FOX&FRIENDS that Trump’s daughter-in-law received a package with white powder in it at her home and have you heard that “annonomous” has hacked Trump’s personal information and has made public his phone number, his SS number and the addresses of his homes? And, do you think this is something different than what we have seen before? If you don’t, I cannot imagine where you have been.

In 1996, Elliott bought defaulted Peruvian debt for $11.4 million.[28] Elliott won a $58 million judgement when the ruling was overturned in 2000, and Peru had to repay the sum in full under the pari passu rule.[29][27][20] When former president of Peru Alberto Fujimori was attempting to flee the country due to facing legal proceedings over human rights abuses and corruption, Singer ordered the confiscation of his jet and offered to let him leave the country in exchange for the $58 million payment from the treasury, an offer which Fujimori accepted.[23][30] A subsequent 2002 investigation by the Government of Peru into the incident and subsequent congressional report,[31] uncovered instances of corruption since Elliott was not legally authorized to purchase the Peruvian debt from Swiss Bank Corporation without the prior approval of the Peruvian government, and thus the purchase had occurred in breach of contract. At the same time, the fund's representative, Jaime Pinto, had been formerly employed by the Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance and had contact with senior officials.[32][33]

The eye-opening efforts of the GOPe to undermine the process and the nomination in comparison to a lame campaign and fight against Obama is stunning. I think the uniparty goal has been to get Hillary installed and keep the status quo. Trump is a wrench, becoming true threat to that faux grifter “show” they put on.
