If the gap is 400 then it belongs to Trump.

And I agree that some of the Cruz supporters have been rude. Saw one where the F bomb was thrown at FR Trump supporters. Not acceptable.

Look I like spirited debate. I have no issues arguing a candidates positions or character. What bothers me is when I say I support candidate X, I am called stupid, a liar, a shill for the GOPe etc.

I have stated I am a conservative, and I don't think Trump is. That may irritate Trump supporters but I think the facts are on my side. I really wish people would stay to policy discussions rather than the personal attacks. Show me where he is conservative.

I did read a blog today that said how the GOPe would attempt to foist Kasich on us at the convention. That is an area where Trump/Cruz should work together to prevent. I am sure at the Trump/Cruz level they could but when their supporters have engaged in all out hostilities it makes it a lot harder.
fwiw

Trump can win Ohio on his own with Kasich out.

Kasick isn’t doing anything. 1 percent in New York? He is not hurting Cruz at all.

Amazing how all the GOPe insiders are backing Cruz. What does that say about who they can control, Trump or Cruz.

If you are for the GOPe vote Cruz.
If you want to end the control by the GOPe vote Trump.

I’ll take the bait.
How would I like Cruz as Trump’s #2:
Cruz would be in a great position to help keep trump honest and would be president of the senate. Cruz has no problem calling out leaders who fail the people. I’d like Cruz as VP if doesn’t win the nomination.
How would I like Cruz after accepting financial support from the GOPe:
Cruz accepting funds does not equal Cruz being bought. Cruz is getting their support because they fear Trump and not because he’s offered them anything. They may have expectations but that doesn’t mean Cruz signed on to those expectations.

Good enough?

“As Trump said, Nice little convention you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it. “

Do you mind if I use this quote to show trump fans that what trump says is often used by his supporters as marching orders toward violence?

I believe you are correct that ‘suspending’ allows the campaign to continue collecting contributions. Often these are used to pay off debts or bankroll the next campaign.

Not all money donated is done so to pay for favors...

I don’t know those rules. I wonder if ‘suspending’ a campaign leaves the funding funnel$$$ open for the donors to keep contributing thinking they may have some influence later.

Could be. I read an article, that I can't find now, that said "suspending" allowed them to continue to raise money, pay outstanding debts and possibly enter the race at a later date?

Doesn't make a difference if it goes to a second ballot, lots of non-candidates like Ryan could be in. Suspending is SOP to better deal with campaign expenditures and debts.

Thanks. So for the first round, Rubio would keep his delegates or could he "give them to someone" in the first round?

Sorry for the questions. Wish I had paid more attention to the Republican process a LONG time ago so I would understand this as it happens, instead of trying to play "catch up" on the rules. LOL.

While state rules may vary, I do remember candidates "releasing" the delegates. He cannot redirect them, only recommend. When John Connolly spent $10 million in 1980 (big money then) and got all of one delegate to show for it, the delegate refused to back Reagan and voted for Connolly anyway. Rules have changed since then, with the Romney people having the votes not count (Rule 40) if thresholds aren't made. While I understand holding to the rule as a lesson to the GOP-E Romney acolytes, only allowing Trump and Cruz on the first ballot at most, we should do away with the thresholds, or have them just for nominating speeches but not for submission.

It is the DC way

Had Ted really wanted to win the nomination he should have had a real plan for the borders. Ted hung back until he saw trump gaining traction and still did not get it
