Well DOJ will just go Janet “Butch” Reno on the statistics and declare all unsolved crimes as “unfounded” thus they never happened as she did rapes ........ thus the crime rates are the lowest ever under the Erkel Mugabe administrations perfect era blah blah blah blech....

Pure baloney

These stats only consider raw numbers and don’t at all account for the huge increase of visitors, transient residents and permanent residents in Denver. Plus the huge influx of cash.

Registered population has increased nearly 10% and airline seat demand has skyrocketed. But there is no record of the people who constantly drive/bus/carpool in since we dont have internal passports.

I guarantee if you could account for total number of people actually within Denver, the true crime *rate* actually decreased

Dangerous drugs. Yup. I was taking a biolgic which worked excellent for me and due to insurance changes I couldn’t afford it. I got into the VA system and got a new doc. He didn’t want to prescribe the stuff I used to take because he “didn’t care” for biologics. He put me on something else and warned me to stay strict with the dosage since it was basically poison. Nice. Anyway, he referred me to a rheumatologist and they diagnosed psoriatic arthritis and they prescribed my old med for me. Now I can afford it through the VA at $9 for a months supply instead of $1200 per month on the outside. No more poison pills.

Crime is up in Baltimore and lots of other big cities that did not decriminalize marijuana.

No doubt. I was just thinking about that. The overall moral climate is deteriorating all over the country. The pot issue is a symptom of a much bigger problem.

It’s because of the pot? Well, maybe. Then again it might be the Mayor, Hancock, and the dirtbag police chief he brought in a couple years ago. The city government in Denver now has all the elements for success that Detroit had two decades ago.

Pot has been legal in the City of Denver since 2005. That is not the issue. The real reasons for the crime spike, as you point out, are Mayor Hancock and Police Chief White, who have pushed Denver even further to the left if that is even possible. The police are no longer allowed to stop and frisk or make arrests for quality of life crimes. Denver is now a sanctuary city that is a magnet for illegal aliens. And three generations of uber-liberal governance have finally taken their toll in that thousands of homeless, mentally ill, leftest wackos, and other demographics that tend to engage in criminal activity have invaded the city looking for free social services.

Not really a problem. Just legalize that too.

Remove the stigma from out of wedlock births and the out of wedlock birth rate skyrockets.

Remove the stigma and anti-homosexual laws from sexual perversion and sexual pervs run wild.

Remove the anti-pot laws and reefer madness sets in.

But the only causes government can come up with is that laws are too harsh and people like conservatives and republicans somehow cause it all by being too judgmental.

Their solution?

More of the same.

Um...13% is not “exploded”. It is a normal data distribution and can be attributed to many things including mild winter we have had whereby bad guy are more active.

To blame this on pot you might as well blame the mild winter on “globull warming”.

Looks like that “Road Home” program that then mayor Hickenlooper launched to “end homelessness” worked out great too. It burned through $millions and the numbers are up. Shame too because the Denver cops could have used a few of those millions to pay some of their civil suits.

Hancock and White are finishing the job nicely. Turning it into Detroit on the Platte.

Ah, those silly yutes. Too bad they can’t just get a job. Like tending plants on the pot farms. Maybe the fringe benefits would tame some aggression. But then again...they ARE yutes.

Excuse me. I've done that, and I do not drive impaired. In fact, I do not even use marijuana.

Eventually, I realized that the sign was not going to turn green...

Anyway, yeah, I could see the stuff as medicinal. The same as any other dangerous drug that should never be abused. It absolutely does altered the individual who consumes it.

Marijuana has been shown to alter the physical structure of developing brains. For one thing, it precipitates psychotic disorder. The effects may be permanent.

The brain continues to develop until about age 25. Thus, the target audience for the drug pushers is also the population most likely to suffer irreversible brain damage from use.

Good job. Patients really need to be self-advocates and involved in their own care.

A friend of mine (coworker) told me they pay a fairly good wage in Montana for clipping pot plants. He claimed it was $15/hour. That is probably a livable wage in Montana.
