Strongly agree that the words of this speech are even more forceful in light of today’s events in Brussels. It’s also enlightening that Orban called out Brussels for unauthorized overreach in trying to become the United States of Europe. Very prescient, IMO.

The problem here is that, in the future, one liberal Hungarian prime minister can permanently undo everything Orbán has done.

It is worth noting that in their history the Hungarians have seen themselves lorded over by the Ottoman Turks, the Austrian Hapsburgs, and the Soviet Union. They are not interested in being lorded over by Islamics, or anyone else, again.
