A mocking Mitt Romney takes after Trump's "foreign wives"

By JOEL CONNELLY, SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF Updated 7:09 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2016

Mitt Romney escalated his feud with Donald Trump on Wednesday night, mocking the real estate mogul's "foreign wives" in a speech at the annual National Republican Congressional Committee dinner.

"Donald Trump has had several foreign wives; it turns out there really are jobs Americans won't do," said the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.

Now we know who was behind the dirty trick of attacking Trump's wife, a Mormon "bishop". I am done, Cruzers.

Cruz is a coward who lets others do the gutter sniping for him so he can pretend he is pure.

Whatever your views of Trump, he has the guts to say it himself and to your face unlike backbiter Cruz.

They’ll say, “Cruz had nothing to do with that ad!” He couldn’t denounce and say it has no place, and to never again use that kind of ad in support of him?

Here’s an exercise: let’s say a PAC put out an ad personally attacking Heidi in a sleazy way, with the recommendation to vote Trump to stop her husband. Trump wasn’t involved, so he doesn’t say a word against it. Would that be okay with Cruz’s supporters? Would they say, “It had nothing to do with Trump”? I find that impossible to believe. They’d be saying what a terrible pig Trump was and that he would never get their vote, should withdraw from the race, etc. Instead, like the “small hands” thing that Trump didn’t start, he is now being blamed for the sleazy tactic used against him.

I don’t see the link between Romney being a loser, which we already knew, and Cruz. Trump attacked Romney’s religion, and Romney attacked back. This is one of the few Romney lines I ever considered clever (so I assume someone else wrote it for him).

I’ll be voting for Trump, but I’d like to keep open the option of voting Cruz in eight years when President Trump leaves office. I’d also like to see the pro-Trump 80% of FR and the pro-Cruz 20% of FR be more civil to each other. If either candidate takes the nomination, we will need the other side’s votes.

One can see in such things too, that Trump is presidential material and Cruz is not.

Romney keeps sinking lower and lower — how disgusting can he get?!

“”Donald Trump has had several foreign wives; it turns out there really are jobs Americans won’t do,” said the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.”

It was Romney. He was behind it.

To borrow a line from 'The Godfather', Ted aka Ted-taglia is a "pimp". He never could have outfought Trump-tino. But I didn't know until this day that it was Romney-zini all along.

The level of nastiness here is unprecedented. Whoever the nominee is, he’s going to need a hell of a lot of independent and Dem voters to make up for the fairly large portion of GOP voters that will vote against him for spite.

Unreal...

Romney should know better than to go after wives as Ann took some unfair flack in 2012. #classless is really shining through.

I don’t know if anyone attacked his wife or used her in a campaign ad, but shame on him for such a low-brow classless comment. He should know better as he was a candidate.

I would have expected better from someone with such high morals as a bishop.

“This guy”, Romney, is a twat.

You’re a loser, Mitch. We got over it. You should too.

Where was this invective when you ran against the jug-eared Islamocommie?

Nowhere. Which is why you are a Loser. If you’re going to play, play to win.

And try to be human-like while doing so...
