Hey, I take it as a given that a brokered convention will nominate either Jeb, Mitt or Ryan. Cruz has to know that too. So I suspect he’s aiming for the VP nod with one of them, as his reward for making a brokered convention happen

Well, if this latest is true, it appears that Ted (FornicaTED?) may have better “establishment” bonafides than anyone ever imagined.

You have to get in with the *whole* WI Cartel: Priebus, Ryan, Walker and Romney. You can’t just date one, like Pringles.

I honestly think the man has let his ego get in the way and thinks he can win NYNJ, CA RI, CT, DE, MD and more.

He hates Trump so much he has got in bed with the establishment and wants to help the establishment get their convention.
I wish his supporters would face facts.

Very possible.

Which speaks volumes about his being a ‘consistent conservative’, but hey - Jeb Bush called him that, so it must be so!!

None of the above. No one in congress likes Cruz. However, a Cruz win means consultants, pollsters, opinion writers, and DC “communications degreed” journalists still have jobs.......with either a Cruz win or Hillary win.

A Trump win means they were all very publicly wrong in their chosen professions and they will soon be unnecessary and unemployed.

Ryan.

Cruz’s goal is to cause a contested convention.

And the be Ryan’s VP pick.

No. Cruz is in it to win it. If Trump falls short on first ballot, it’s very likely Cruz will win the nomination. Historically, that’s been the story.

Under the current rules, only Cruz and Trump will be nominated. The Presidential nominee will be one of them.

The question is what is Kasich doing in the race? I will answer the question: to be VP.

Nope, Cruz is being used by Romney/Jeb to insure a brokered convention.
After first vote, Cruz will be kicked to the curb.

Cruz has always been a Stealth Bush. He’s doing the Bush establishments dirty work for them. He’s probably smart enough to know that they won’t give him the nomination, but they could retire any campaign debt, plus give him a huge amount of money for his re-election campaign in 2018. Or, they might be dangling a Supreme Court nomination or AG in front of him like a carrot.

He is running to put Hillary in. He can't win himself. The GOP won't win the general without Trump. So the best Cruz can hope for is running mate on a losing ticket. So that just leaves the following motives:

I'm wondering if Cruz was deluded into thinking that if he jumps through all the hoops the puppetmasters put in front of him, they'd keep the scandals quiet and let him be a totally controlled President. We should've known something was very wrong when Neil Bush was put on his campaign finance team. I just assume they would've pulled the plug when the timing was right and we'd get someone from their short list.

Cruz seems to think stuff doesn't apply to him and he can talk his way out of anything.

Looking at the past few days, I'm wondering if Cruz's superiority complex didn't do him in. None of this hit the mainstream until the photo of Melania was used in Utah. Instead of strongly denouncing the campaign tactic (whoever was responsible) all he did was whine about being blamed.

What's happening now looks an awful lot like how Alpha Males of old responded when someone attacked their family.

Same can be said for Trump. 1237 appears unobtainable for either candidate

William III, If Cruz is running for the VP, and hedging his bets with a “brokered convention”, that will prove him to be weak in his policies as a VPOTUS, or POTUS....He will have big problems with congress and other government agencies.
The GOP will become weaker, and more disorganized with in the party. No unity, thus Hillary will be POTUS, and the GOP will slowly dissolve , and who wins? The establishment greedy senators, and representatives that takes bribes, and cash, and other amenities offered to them by lobbyists. The NWO, wins

The GOPe knows full well that Cruz is not eligible to hold the office of president. Not even the Senate will resolve him being eligible like the Senate did for lord McCain... But that bit of following the ‘original intent’ is completely disregarded by the likes of Levin, Rush, Beck, and NR...

Trump is the ultimate outsider of the GOPe... IF Hillry is the nominee, there is NO way she will allow a second ineligible junior senator take from her what she is entitled to have. How many judges have the Clintons benched?

The so called conservatives have sold their soul for Ted Cruz.. It is a disgusting sight to observe ‘we the people’ selling out their birthright...
