.....”We're not like Democrats. If one of ours screws up, we don't just blindly overlook it to the detriment of the country”.....

Well I hate to tell you that these last eight years of ‘our’ congressional leaders have shown otherwise that they do not.....

Whatever Trump says about ‘being flexible’ IS what will be done or undone if he wins.....Obama won't be the only one using executive privilege.....Trump will if he wins and nobody knows what he will want or do once he's in. Including Trump. He always says...”we'll have to see”.....so he has plenty of wiggle room because he's informed everyone that he will be flexible and expects his supporters to be likewise.

As I see it Trumps a heck of a risk as he could flip to enjoy whatever "washington" adulation the man seeks and needs...and he we know that he lives for that. Once he's in he won't need voter approval...he'll want washingtons.

Believe me, I understand. I am not all in for Trump. He is an egomaniac and a bit of a hustler, but I don’t doubt his genuine love for America. That alone makes him far and away a better choice than any Democrat and especially HIllary.

We know HIllary, we know the damage she will do. We know that what she wants is not good for our country.

Imagine the reaction of the Democrats to a presidential win after these disastrous years of Obama. They will accelerate everything because a win will be more than just a mandate to them, it will be a cry from the people to drag this country further and further into socialism.

Imagine a victorious HIllary. Just imagine it. Imagine what she will do. Imagine the Democrats on every news show crowing that the will the people is behind her, behind them. Imagine every liberal woman now in the driver’s seat of this nation. Just imagine it.

I wish we had the luxury of sitting back and voting strictly on principle or sitting out because our panties are in a twist over the nominee.

Those who didn’t vote because Romney was not the candidate they wanted.
Are we better off or worse off because Obama had another four years?

Now, look ahead. Four years of HIllary.

For anyone who loves this country, if it’s Trump or Hillary, then may God Bless President Trump.

Uh no ...The PAC money that was behind other candidates was far greater than what Trump has spent on the campaign trail. In Florida, 38 million was spent on anti-Trump Ads and he still won by a knockout.

Furthermore, there were 11 televised debates and it was reported that Trump won every one of them.

Further again, none of the other candidates showed energy even close to Donald Trump’s.

Yes, he had name-recognition but his negatives were overwhelming at the start and he tirelessly worked to reverse his ratings. Each time the media would say that Trump hit a ceiling, Trump would break through and establish a new ceiling. Today, Reuters has him well over 50%.

And his ratings and unfavorables with women and against Hillary will improve through the rest of the campaign. Because it’s clear that when people get to know him, they begin to like him and then they become supporters and they begin to like his supporters and so goes the movement.

....”I am at the point where my thinking is that if these bozos are the best we can do, this country is finished”....

Well that's been a given for sometime now...who would have believed McCain had any chance again Obama? He handed the election to Obama willingly.

These aren't the best we have....who would want the Presidency in the state of the world and this nation, which is definitely going to get worse? I continue to support Cruz as I believe he has many advantages over Trump in getting things done right away and knows how to do so and has people prepared and ready to make that happen.....Trumps going to be tripping over his own two feet, along with those he appoints from the outside, for most of his term as they have to adjust to the climate and "rules" of Washington... So I'll continue to support Cruz until we actually have a winner......it's not over yet. We do not have a Candidate for President yet.

“I think voting for Trump puts us in the exact same place.”

Then you don’t know Trump and are only responding in a liberal fashion to your social inputs.

Yes Jim, I remember well. I also voted for Romney, even though he was NOT my choice.

All the pledges were made, and now we notice ALL the so called “Conservatives” who have backed out on their pledges, while Trump still honors his pledge!

I was OK with a Trump/Cruz ticket early on, but now it is obvious that Cruz is not the “outsider” he claims to be. I learned early on during my 75 years to listen to what folks say, and then watch what they do. If we take a look at the endorsements of both Cruz and Trump, it says a great deal.

I have watched as Beck, Carly, Neil Bush, Graham, Romney and Jeb Bush joined the Ted Cruz team.

I watched as Chris Cristie, Duncan Hunter, Ben Carson, Jeff Sessions, Jan Brewer, Sheriff Joe, Pam Bondi, Rick Scott, Scott Brown, and others I admire joined Donald Trump's team. By the way, all one needs to do is look up Amanda Carpenter's "blacklist" to find out who has endorsed Trump or made supportive statements! Did Amanda Carpenter make a "blacklist" of Conservatives who support Trump because she has connections to another candidate??

I have also noticed so very many STILL accuse Trump for ALL the name calling, yet they ignore the fact that the Trump comments are ALL in reply to name calling or lies from others. All one needs to do is check out the “time stamps” on the comments made from both sides to see the truth. And of course the media is blaming Trump for the latest fight between Cruz and Trump, ignoring where it stated and the connections to various PACS.

Bottom Line is I will vote for whomever the nominee is but I pray we end up with a Donald Trump/Ben Carson ticket!

If the media isnt smart enough (and they are not) to know that Trump is playing them, well, I hope their entire industry gets flushed. I havent watched cable TV in over 5 years or paid to go to a movie in over 10 and joyously havent missed any of the things you are talking about.

As for Trump having an advantage because he has parlayed his personal fortune into such a machine as he does not have to rely on taxpayer money or any other political constituency for his platform only confirms that politicians in general are nothing more than oportunistic leaches that want to use my money to screw me.

I have been ignoring every thread I could tell was gonna be explosive rhetoric in either direction and now the recent thread list is polluted with cheating cheaters and National Enquirer based thereads that have become just a s trusted as any on the MSM list!

Passions are running high and stupidity is overwhelming many. I still have to fight back throwing up every time I see Ted Cruz double kiss that girl coming off the bus.

The explosion of newbies and trolls for this upcoming election cycle has been unprecedented. Over the last month I have missed so many ZOTS due to my unwillingness to click on tabloid threads I am currently having to work on my RKBA re-cert.

Well...I understand but I don;t vote according to immiganations about Hillary... I'm currently voting 'FOR' my choice of a Presidential candidate to run for the office and that would be Cruz.... Should he not win this before convention then it will depend on what happens thereafter.

We know the convention may very well occur and nobody knows how that will go....but if Cruz is still a front runner he'll get my vote over Trump and Kasich or any other... If not I'll cross the bridge at that time and whoever wins it looks like another 'hold my nose vote' in opposition to Hillary rather than "For" a Candidate....and that's getting more than old.

If I've lost hope in anyone it's the American people who no longer have understanding, nor think, of why this nation has survived, nor do they care for facts over "imaginations" of their own mind which politicians play mightily now. Many dicatators manipulated their public that they too loved their country and it's people in order to gain power. That is not enough to gain my vote....their history, their foundations they have stood on, consistency and their overall firm positions on issues will determine my vote. Trump hasn't proved himself by any means on those....in fact quite the opposite. So I cannot willingly give the man my support unless there's no other option... and that will be very much an opposition vote to Hillary.

Well Trumps actually no different then the politicians....using his own wealth which we know is questionable, (because he knows well how to launder money) is still revenue, (which btw as Trump said he expects to be paid back in the General if he wins.)... But it still does not impress me as it looks like the wealthy don't have to play according to standard procedures but make your own along the way which he has done....and that is chaos and a bought presidency just the same.

So couple that with the media and it's still a media run election....it doesn't matter who pays as long as the networks get paid with viewership ratings and advertising fees and/or it comes from the candidates themselves...it's still the “pay off” to media. I haven't watched much of the junk regarding Cruz or Trump in days now.....no reason to it's just mud slinging nonsense......may be purposeful while they all prepare for convention and yet still keeping the TV viewers engaged....Trump prefers the nonsense rather than real issues.

The same people who couldn’t hold their nose and vote for Romney because they have “principles” (uh-huh). This time it would be worse because Trump has squeezed all their emotional triggers and they think he’s some sort of little man’s champion. A pampered, perfumed megalomaniac solidly embedded in the politics of schmooze - their champion. Just fantastic.

Thank you for the very kind words and the friendly heads-up although I am not completely comfortable in the company you make me keep.

As I understand the offense, it is that the individual declared that he or she would not vote for the Republican nominee, at least if he were Donald Trump. Is that correct?

For the record, I have long stated that I will support the nominee when the nomination is certain. To be completely frank, I did say that I would pull the lever with one hand, hold my nose with the other hand, and fall on my knees beseeching God Almighty to forgive me and the Republic for the folly of nominating Donald Trump.

I like to think my own about page is not too shabby.

Problem I have is I’m not convinced Trump, if he does win, will do any better then Hillary because his associations for years have been the very elites of Washington, Hollywood and Corporate America.....so my only hope would be that the Republicans and his supporters will keep his feet to all he’s promised.....and that’s a stretch IMO....history has shown congress fails greatly.

I would keep Trump's feet to the conservative fire.

I did the same for Mitt and McCain after they were nominated. I wound up holding my nose voting for both.

I don’t need a memo.... I’ve been here for a very long time.

And I don’t need a lecture from you.

The fact is that there are many, many members here who like Ted Cruz and who do not like Donald Trump or, like me, do not think Donald Trump can win the general election.

I think that freepers who prefer Cruz deserve the same consideration within certain limits that the Trump supporters do.

The Trump supporters are not a total majority here although they are so noisy it seems like it. Don’t go totally by Doughty’s poll, most Cruz supporters don’t bother with it anymore.

So, all I’m asking for is that Cruz supporters be allowed to post relevant articles even though they may offend the tender sensibilities of mkjessup.
