Washington Times FIRES writer who everyone says confirmed National Enquirer story
Inquisitir ^ | 27 Mar 16 | Tara West

A Washington Times writer was abruptly fired after he “came clean” on Twitter about the Ted Cruz sex scandal. The writer, Drew Johnson, confirmed via his Twitter account that there was some truth to the Ted Cruz affair rumors noting that he knows at least two of the mistresses named by the National Enquirer are accurate. The columnist says that other media outlets, columnists and reporters knew about the affairs, but refused to run the story.

The National Enquirer has caused a media firestorm after publishing a cover story about GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz and a series of alleged mistresses. The publication is a known tabloid, but despite its reputation for the sensational, has broke a number of big stories related to political candidates and high profile cases in the past. For example, the National Enquirer was the first to break stories about Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson and John Edwards before they were confirmed by the mainstream media. Therefore, when the tabloid decided to run with a story about Ted Cruz and his rumored “five mistresses,” it left some questioning if the bombshell report could be true.

In response to the story in question, a Washington Times columnist responded that it is not entirely bogus as from “what he knows” at least two of the mistresses outlined in the report are “accurate.”

I see you haven’t checked out the NY rags lately then.

They are all saying Donnie jumped the shark on his David Pecker Attack.

When there is proof of the allegations, I'll hold Cruz accountable in a way that will absolutely end his campaign. What you're engaged in, however, is wanton character assassination for political gain based on hearsay.

Time is short. We can't afford to wait for the Enquirer to drip out the story up to the week of the convention. If Cruz is an adulterer and proof is going to be released at the worst possible moment all Republicans need to cut him loose now and rally behind Trump, the last remaining hope of defeating the GOPe and Hillary.

I don't want to stake the future of our country on the assumption that the Enquirer just made this up or is repeating unsubstantiated rumors. That is not their reputation, not since they lost a few lawsuits. In recent years the Enquirer has taken candidates down by uncovering the truth the mainstream media wouldn't touch. Just ask John Edwards.

Yes, we must convict him in the court of public opinion, without proof, and send him packing. It's the conservative thing to do.

Republicans need to cut him loose now and rally behind Trump, the last remaining hope of defeating the GOPe and Hillary.

Even though Trump is the only candidate to have negatives higher than Hillary?

he Enquirer has taken candidates down by uncovering the truth the mainstream media wouldn't touch. Just ask John Edwards.

The MSM defends democrats which is why the Enquirer was alone on the Edwards story. Do you really think the MSM will treat a conservative Republican in the same manner? The MSM is showing better judgement on this issue than many conservatives. What a truly sad commentary.

The court of public opinion is what elections are. Cruz doesn't have to be convicted beyond a reasonable doubt. Cruz's base of evangelical voters just have to believe he's an adulterer.

If I didn't think there was anything to this I wouldn't post about it. I don't agree with the conspiracy theories claiming Cruz was working for the GOPe all along. Politically Cruz is much more conservative than Trump, and one of the most conservative candidates who's run since Reagan left office.

But in his personal life... not so much.

The only thing that matters is what you can prove. Feeling that Cruz did something that disqualifies him from the race is very different than being able to prove it. If you truly believe in the court of public opinion then Cruz should be allowed to continue in the race and allow the voters to decide who our candidate will be.

If actual evidence finds the light of day at some time in the future, that same public opinion will force him from the contest. It's obvious that we hold Cruz to a higher standard than Trump, who is an admitted serial adulterer, and has been for decades -- in addition to supporting abortion, Kelo, outsourcing, the hiring of illegals, and actively supporting large numbers of liberal politicians.

Why would Amanda Carpenter claim yesterday that the photos of condoms (her words) were photoshopped if they were simply “tags”?

Indeed and as Cruz hasn’t born thorns before now, it should give us pause before we accept fruit of other fruit.

I don't claim that Trump is Franklin Graham or Ravi Zacharias (although Graham is backing Trump). I simply back Trump over Cruz because of his stated positions, obvious leadership, courage in the face of political correctness, belief in America, and ability to defeat Hillary Clinton. I believe that Cruz is a phony and a two faced hypocrite. Also, God can use who He wishes. It is His plan. May His will be done.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/01/30/iowa-elections-chief-calls-out-cruz-mailings-voters/79590072/

After seeing the mailers, Iowa’s secretary of state, Paul Pate, issued a statement condemning Cruz’s tactic:

Today I was shown a piece of literature from the Cruz for President campaign that misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law. Accusing citizens of Iowa of a “voting violation” based on Iowa Caucus participation, or lack thereof, is false representation of an official act. There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting. Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses.

Additionally, the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office never “grades” voters. Nor does the Secretary of State maintain records related to Iowa Caucus participation. Caucuses are organized and directed by the state political parties, not the Secretary of State, nor local elections officials. Also, the Iowa Secretary of State does not “distribute” voter records. They are available for purchase for political purposes only, under Iowa Code.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/02/politics/ted-cruz-ben-carson-apology/index.html

Windham, New Hampshire (CNN)Republican Ben Carson Tuesday called for the firing of a Ted Cruz campaign staffer who said the retired neurosurgeon was planning to drop out.

“I think whoever is responsible for blatant lying should be dismissed, absolutely. Unless that kind of behavior is acceptable in your campaign culture,” Carson told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead.”

One day after winning the Iowa caucuses, Cruz issued an apology to Carson after his staff falsely told Iowa caucusgoers that Carson planned to quit the race, calling it a “mistake.”

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/02/22/cruz-fires-top-campaign-spokesman-over-rubio-bible-video.html

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said Monday he’s fired campaign communications director Rick Tyler, after his top spokesman promoted a video that wrongly depicted Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as trash-talking the Bible.

Neal Cavuto interview with Cruz Supporter Andrea McWilliams on March 8, 2016 (12/13 days BEFORE the Utah Primary)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALErcfr7jQ0&feature=youtu.be

Here is the original complete Cavuto Interview and Andrea McWilliams. She is identified and introduced to the audience as a Cruz Supporter. Notice the dirty tricks Cruz played on Rubio first 4 minutes into the interview. Notice Cruz et.al. set-up the Melania attack? Unfreakinbelievable!!!!! Cruz's Supporter set the stage for the ad perfectly just 12/13 days before (March 21, 2016) the Utah vote. McWilliams purposeful and vile in her comments beginning about 4:20 into the interview. Remember this is March 8, 2016 - 14 days before the Utah vote. Scandalous!!!!

And this Cruz Supporter (dare I say operative) has the nerve to complain that Melania is born in a “foreign” country when Cruz is born in Canada! Are you kidding me??? Does anyone else see a pattern here.

Here is what I take issue with:

Politics is a macabre kabuki dance where candidates ask us to give them our money, votes, and support - an in return they can screw up our lives, send us or our family members to war, ruin our businesses, and in general cause much damage. We try and weigh and gage each candidate, and pick the lesser evil.

When we do find character or other flaws in a candidate, we are not allowed to use them to "judge" them. The verses posted earlier to me speak of Mosaic law application. We are not putting anyone on trial or sentencing them to death. We are evaluating whether or not to support them.

Was Paul out of bounds in 1 Corinthians 5? Certainly not.

Likewise, the actions of these candidates, who put themselves out there, are more than fair game and actionable on our part.

If you truly believe in the court of public opinion then Cruz should be allowed to continue in the race and allow the voters to decide who our candidate will be.

By staying in Cruz and Kasich make it much more likely that the GOPe will select the candidate, ignoring the voters entirely.

I don't owe Cruz any loyalty, and if this story is true he hasn't earned any from anyone else either.

My advice to any rodentia still clinging to the Cruz ship is to quit copulating and get swimming.

Trump should have to earn the nomination just like anyone else.

GOPe may scare you but they don't have the power this year. They can rattle their cages and bluster all they want. If they choose to go kamikaze then it will be the end of the GOP. I don't see it so I am not going to fear it.

Trump should have to earn the nomination just like anyone else.

What does Cruz want? If he wants to be president, too bad. That's not going to happen this time around. So all staying in got him was a shot at VP... until the scandal broke. Now he's completely toxic. Trump will make a deal with Kasich or the GOPe before he takes on Cruz's ruinous baggage.

With no path to the nomination and no deals for the VP forthcoming all Cruz's continued campaign accomplishes is to throw the nomination to the GOPe's selection. The GOPe's selection can't beat Hillary. Between Trump and Cruz's supporters a Ryan or Romney or Walker will lose at least half the GOP activist base and be crushed in the general election.

So Cruz, by staying in, elects Hillary.

Thanks a bunch, Ted.
