Not just you, Danny. Many people say the same thing. I should not have addressed just your comment. Sorry, it bugs me how the media has done this.

Why waste ink on a “given”?

I have no idea what Bernie’s supporters will do. I don’t have much in common with socialist Millennials. I’d like to direct their attention to Venezuela, a recent socialist “success” story, but they probably believe it really is a success (much like Cuba).

Take (steal) from the rich, and give to the poor. Yeah, that’s exactly what America needs more of. Those evil corporations forcing us to buy iPhones and whatnot must be stopped!

Never waste breath on trying to convert a socialist, futility and waste on energy.

All this should serve to certify that the American elections have been “FIXED” for generations as to at least who is allowed to run if not also who will win.

Do you agree with this process for the Republican Party or should the nominee be voted by the people? I think the people.

If Trump becomes president would he want to change the process? I would hope so.

Very interesting things to think about. The world is changing and now is the time to change things for the better.

It’s like the Revolutionary period: things changed fast and allowed the Founders to make a great document.

I am so glad that I am alive to see this. And I am so glad that I have FR to enjoy with fellow travelers.

I think I wish I DIDN’T know.

I agree it’s a waste of time. Leftists are irrational. They are immune to reason.

Good article. I like the following:

“If the Republicans had a similar process, we might be talking about Jeb Bush cruising to the nomination. But the fix isn’t in for the Republicans like it is for the Democrats.”

Imagine that.

This is one instance (of many, I think) where the Democrats have little regard for Democracy.

The democrat convention is not rigged. It’s working great for the donors.

one could easily judge this to be a horse race with a couple of furloughs to go.

Just guessing Townhall doesn't have an editor.

The Bern’s supporters will be a problem. They are laboring under the illusion that the Democrat party is “fair” and if Bernie wins the hard delegates, the superdelegates will vote for him at the convention. Yes, they actually believe that. If Hill steals it from Bern, expect chaos and mass defections. In poll after poll about 1/3 say they will not vote unless Bernie’s the nominee.

My guess is Bern will be Hillary’s VP, if he’ll take the job. That’s the only way to keep his voters on the plantation, and if they walk, she doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell.

After New York’s primary on the 19th it will be mathematically impossible for Cruz to get to 1237 before the convention. At that point a vote for Cruz is literally nothing more than a vote to allow the GOP establishment to pick the nominee. There is not even the slightest chance that they will pick Cruz as their nominee. Why would they?

At that point, no matter what Cruz says, no matter what Carl Rove, Paul Ryan, or Reince Priebus, or anyone else says the contest becomes Donald Trump vs. the Republican establishment. So far this year the Republican establishment hasn’t been doing so well. So yes Donald Trump will get to 1237, easily.

I would like to do away with delegates selected by Party bosses. Have delegates be supplied by the candidates who win.

Perhaps change the ballot so as to be able to specify a second choice. If your first choice fails to be in the top 2 on the first ballot, your vote goes to your second choice on the second ballot.

OUR country was NOT set up so a small group of elites could rule the people.

Countries run by self-appointed elites* tend to devolve into hellholes. Eventually ‘elites’ start feathering their own nests to an extreme and get paranoid about ‘the people’ objecting.

North Korea and Iran are perfect examples of ‘elites’ running a country. South American and dictatorships are other examples of 'elites' running countries for their won benefit.

Hell on earth... for the vast majority... Unreal comfort and privilege for the few. That's what the DC elites want... but they don't want to be too obvious. We must fight them...

*Monarchy's are the exception.. they're based on 'obligation' not hunger for power over others....

The Democrats unelected “Superdelegates” force Bernie to win big or lose. Sanders has to get at least 55 percent of the popular vote in each state to break even with Hillary in delegates in most states under the strict proportional rules of the Democrat Party.

Maybe not. According to the Dem Primary wiki page According to Democratic Party rules super delegates do not vote on the first ballot, they are only asked to vote in the event a deadlocked convention. They have only been used once in the history of the Democratic party, in 1984

In terms of regular delegates, Hillary is only ahead 1266 to 1038.

Now is the time to start imprinting that meme on to every Bernie young person you know. I’ve started to drop #thefixisin into every pro Bernie article comment section, or Facebook post I see from any Bernie supporter. I am trying to poison the well for Hillary so that these young Bernie supporters will stay away in droves come the general election. All is fair in love and war, and politics.
