Ted Cruz, the man who believes god wants him to be president

SENATOR Ted Cruz may be dubbed the most despised man in Washington but he is certain God wants him to be the next president of the US.

snip

What is disconcerting is the paradox that such a religious person as Cruz can attract such hatred. If you think hatred is a strong word this is what Cruz’s college room-mate says of him: “I would rather have anybody else be the president of the United States. Anyone. I would rather pick somebody from the phone book.”

In case the US did not get the message, Craig Mazin – now a scriptwriter – added: “Ted Cruz will become the thing you need him to be so that he wins an election. No principles, no moral centre, no values. Just ambition.”

snip

Ted GETTY, Trump's senior policy advisor said said Cruz was a Wall Street globalist

The dawning realisation that it could be Cruz prompted Trump’s most senior policy adviser to tell an audience in Wisconsin: “I’m going to tell each and every one of you the real truth about Ted Cruz. He is a radical Wall Street globalist who will rip the beating heart of manufacturing out of the United States of America.”

Strong stuff. Trump weighed in this way: “He’s a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him.”

snip

When asked which politician they would like to run for president many people who have worked with him closely say anyone but Cruz.

One political strategist who worked with Cruz in George W Bush’s campaign office tweeted that: “If a truth serum was given to the staff of the 2000 Bush [campaign team] an enormous percentage would vote for Trump over Cruz.”

CNN's report implied it. Cruz's team went with that interpretation. They were wrong, said so, and apologized repeatedly.

There was no evidence that a single person changed their vote because of it.

And those with political agendas have made what they wanted of it. I guess thats the way the cookie crumbles. But lets not pretend Ted's critics are being entirely honest.

I don’t believe that God endorses candidates.

And I don’t endorse people who claim to speak for God.

Still the most disturbing thing to me is how “true conservatives” were upset that someone born in Kenya to a US citizen mother is President, but have absolutely no problem with someone born in Canada to a US citizen mother. I just don’t get the logic, but I happen to be a low-information Trump supporter. Figures, eh?

“We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated. We’re the smartest people, we’re the most loyal people, and you know what I’m happy about? Because I’ve been saying it for a long time. 46% were the Hispanics—46%, No. 1 one with Hispanics. I’m really happy about that.”

It was a big leap between what CNN reported and the FACT that Carson was suspending. Team Cruz reported to every single caucus location the FACT that Carson was suspending. It was a wholesale lie.

You have to take into consideration the possibility that the roommate himself may have an agenda. The writer (Hangover 2, Scary Movie 3) knows what can “concern” people most. He also said that Freshman Ted abused the snooze alarm and was smelly. My wife pointed out that most college freshman males are smelly.

Gotta say snooze alarm and being smelly is funny stuff...

But in all seriousness, I just would have expected comments like “Cruz was a crazy conservative,” or “Crazy fundamentalist,” or “Whacked out Baptist” “Bible-Thumper” etc...whatever...

But the roommate doesn’t really go there...Which given Cruz’s other inconsistencies...concerns me.

Ted Cruz, the man who believes god wants him to be president”

I think the problem with the headline is the phrase “the man who”, and in particular “THE” man, as opposed to “A” man, seems to imply that this is unusual, and perhaps wrong. So some better headlines would be:

Ted Cruz believes god called him to be president.

Is Cruz right that god wants him to be president? Time will tell.

God called me to be our next president; Cruz.

Answering god’s call - that’s why Cruz says he’s running for President.

Oh, realizing this is a duplicate post, maybe you can inform us of how destroying Cruz is going to help our party since the MSM and the Cruzers are attempting to destroy Trump?........What am I missing here?

A shame such a good man be so slandered with outright lies, many of not most started by Trump.

In the real world, do you do things you think God doesn’t want you to do?

Did Ted Bundy kill women because God wanted him to?

Thanks for at least reading the article...I don’t know the roommate—I don’t watch his movies...heck yeah, he is a lib from what I have learned here and in article.

However, as I have said, I just find it of concern how he seemed to dislike Cruz but it did not have anything to do with Cruz’s faith or conservatism...

Tapper: "CNN has learned some news about the man who, at least according to polls, is in fourth place here in Iowa. Now, Dana, a week from tomorrow, we’re all going to be doing this again for the New Hampshire primary. So almost every single candidate is going to be going directly from here to New Hampshire to campaign — except for the man in fourth place, who a few months ago was in first place here, Dr. Ben Carson. What have we learned?"

Bash: "That’s right. We should say that our Chris Moody is breaking this news, that Ben Carson is going to go back to Florida to his home, regardless of how he does tonight here in Iowa. He’s going to go there for several days. And then afterwards, he’s not going to go to South Carolina. He’s not going to go to New Hampshire. He’s going to come to Washington, D.C., and he’s going to do that because the National Prayer Breakfast is on Thursday. And people who have been following Ben Carson’s career know that that’s really where he got himself on the political map, attending that prayer breakfast, and really giving it to President Obama at the time. And he became kind of a hero among conservatives, among evangelicals especially."

Tapper: "But it’s very unusual..."

Bash: "Very unusual."

Tapper: "...to be announcing that you’re going to go home to rest for a few days, not going on to the next site. Plus, he’s already announced that he’s going to be coming out and speaking at 9:15 local and 10:15 Eastern, no matter whether or not we know the results, because he wants to get home and get ahead of the storm."

Bash: "Look, if you want to be president of the United States, you don’t go home to Florida. I mean, that’s bottom line. That’s the end of the story. If you want to signal to your supporters that you want it, that you’re hungry for it, that you want them to get out and and campaign, you’ve got to be out there doing it too. And he’s not doing it. It’s very unusual."

Tapper: "Very unusual news that CNN has just learned. CNN’s Chris Moody breaking the story. Wolf, back to you in Washington."

Blitzer: "Very significant news indeed, guys, thanks very much."

The Cruz campaign MADE UP the statement that Carson was going to make a “big announcement” the following week.

That was the Big Lie. CNN said NOTHING about a “big announcement”. The Carson people said NOTHING about a “big announcement”.

The Cruz campaign reported CNN’s speculation as fact. They could easily have confirmed their rumor with the Carson campaign before spreading it, but they didn’t.

Whether or not anyone changed their vote because of this is irrelevant.

You can spin it however you like, but a lie is a lie.
