“Rules are rules.”

That is the controversy. The rules abrogate the will of the voters. We all snickered when we found out the democrats did it with “super delegates”. Now, the Republicans have rigged the same corrupt system.

Count me in. I only sent them $100 when Palin was nominated, but they call, mail and email me like I was Sheldon Adelson. I’ve told them to stick it so many times I’ve lost count.

I wish there was a country like America use to be - and that I could escape to that country...

If the rules are changed this year and Trump loses, he will call for riots.

If the rules are not changed to let Trump win, he will call for riots.

When has Trump ever called for a riot? Get real.

This really is an important issue AND the MSM doesn’t give a damn about free elections or not. The assh*les care about ‘tone’... as if we’re all sitting in some DC drawing room having tea...

I’m in stage 3.5 - Indifference. If I can survive eight years of an arrogant, thin-skinned narcissist with whom I agree on 0% of the issues, I can survive four years of an arrogant, thin-skinned narcissist with whom I agree on 5% of the issues.

And it took how many elections to realize the GOPe has been governing AGAINST it’s conservative base because they are anti values, anti conservative but pro feathered nests?

“Sent by God”?

If so, more likely as depicted in Revelation, not Genesis.

Trump is the man who has premised his whole campaign on his ability to make deals, winning deals, deals that are good for America, with the bad guys.

Bad guys like Reid and Pelosi, not to mention our enemies in China, Russia, and Iran.

So if he arrives at the convention with (say) 1,187 delegates, he'll need to put all his deal making skill to work.

If he can do that, and get the nomination, I'll publicly apologize on FR for everything negative I've ever said about Trump's competence.

Cruz was appointed a rabbi, a protector higher in the organization, from the GOPe inner circle to hold his hand and show the newer kid all the tricks.

You Trumpeteers need to get your story straight. Is Ted ineffective because everyone in Congress hates him, or is he an insider?

Mitch McConnell: Why no, the Senate won’t pass a resolution affirming Cruz’s eligibility like it did for McCain

Cruz's ego is so big, he thought by helping Mitch's legislative efforts he could get a Constitutional eligibility resolution from Mitch. When Cruz found out Mitch would NOT resolve Cruz to be eligible then ol Mitch became the liar....

Close, but I don’t think you quite got it.

If Trump loses the nomination because he didn’t win the republican vote, then my vote still counts.

But if Trump wins the popular vote during the primaries, but the nomination is stolen by stacking the delegates against the wishes of the majority/plurality of republican voters, then it becomes obvious the vote was a sham and the GOPe was going to do what they wanted regardless of the voters. In that case my vote doesn’t count, because I wasted it on a party that disregarded it.

And if that turns out to be the case, then I won’t waste any more votes on that party.

Trump just said what we are talking about here is an important element of the delegate securing process and that's why he rushed to appoint Mr. Manafort. Your own man just admitted the credibility of this process and that he was hurrying to catch up.Source: This morning's LA Times.

You and many don't have a legitimate complaint on this thread. Only sour grapes and poor sportsIt would appear your own man's statement and action tends to contradict your assertion. ;-)

"When has Trump ever called for a riot? Get real."

On March 16 on CNN's "New Day," Trump threatened riot if he gets to 1100 delegates and is not automatically the nominee.

NY times:

"I think we'’ll win before getting to the convention, but I can tell you, if we didn't and if we're 20 votes short or if we're 100 short and we're at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400, because we're way ahead of everybody, I don't think you can say that we don’t get it automatically," Mr. Trump said. "I think it would be — I think you'd have riots. I think you'd have riots. I'm representing a tremendous, many, many millions of people."

He added: "If you disenfranchise those people and you say, well I'm sorry but you're 100 votes short, even though the next one is 500 votes short, I think you would have problems like you've never seen before. I think bad things would happen, I really do. I believe that. I wouldn't lead it but I think bad things would happen."

On March 20 on This Week With George Stephanopoulos, Trump said he will not formally call for riots, but he will expect his followers to riot if he loses.

Huff Post story (full transcript here):

ABC News host George Stephanopoulos had to ask three times to get Trump to say he’d tell his supporters not to riot if he’s denied the nomination at the Republican National Convention this summer.

“I would certainly tell them that, but, you know, look, these people are — are fervent,” Trump said.

“I don’t want to see riots. I don’t want to see problems,” Trump continued. “But, you know, you have — you have millions of people who we’re talking about, George, millions of additional people have gone. You know, I’ve gotten more than 2 million votes more than anybody else, 2 million votes, more than anybody else.”

That's a thuggish barely veiled threat, repeated. It is like saying, "Donate to my protection plan, or you might fall down and get hurt."

North Dakota is indeed a state whose delegates are not bound on the first ballot. The fact that this one RNC guy from ND, Curly Hoagland, believes that is true of every other state means precisely squat. Not a single other person at the RNC had backed him up on this, nor have any other state committees reached the same conclusion as him either.
