How many nude people does the FBI look at regularly?
Its a real problem. He knew that Big Brother is watching, and didn’t like it any more than you or I. I put black epoxy over mine.
Black epoxy, that’s extreme!
I use a piece of folded paper.
Take if off when I Skype then put it back on.
“Very simple to turn on a web cam without the indicator light being turned on.”
Is there a way to monitor camera activity of your computer other than the indicator light?
Love it!
Our laptop allows turning off camera...I still put tape on it...computer guy thought I was stupid...but he likes Bernie
I have covered my facing lenses ever since ... on my phone, too. No selfies here.
I have mine covered also, with a a piece of a file folder label, covered by a second piece also. I’ve always wondered though if there is a microphone that goes with the webcam.
I put a bandaid over mine.
Good point; I’d assume there is. Wouldn’t change much for me (they’d just be listening to my music).
microphone?
We were issued mini plugs, with no wires attached. Plug into mic input jack.
I’m not surprised, I’ve done the same thing now for years. In fact from the time I switched from using a desktop machine to going to Laptops exclusively.
kind of stupid especially.because
If they’ve hacked into my computer to the point they can actually access my webcam
1. I’d worry first about them being on my computer as they could be seeing all my files and what im typing anything with a keylogger
2.then would worry about the mic normally with the camera far more than the camera itself ....people would listening to you
3. the fact that someone might see my face on a camera is the lowest level of my worry
bottom line if someone is hacking my computer the least of my worries as someone that might be able to see my face on my webcam...... this is more worried from.women thinking guys are being peeping Toms on them
Sometimes an innocent site gets hacked and instead of just defacing it the hacker puts something hidden and clever on it.
Use a trimmed band-aid, that way you don’t get glue on the lens, in case you need it for skyping.
There was a security hole in 2011 that allowed webpages to receive camera input from viewers camera. It affected all those who had a very popular adobe flash plugin installed. Security holes allowing enough access to plant a keylogger in undetected way are much rarer. Keyloggers and such are not rare, but they usually rely on the victim to do something stupid like clicking yes and running an unknown program.
