Only if Trump gets to 1,237. Otherwise, we may end up with someone who never ran. Of course Cruz thinks it will be he, as do his supporters, but there is certainly no guarantee of that.

But the real problem is that if it is Trump or Cruz so much damage has been done to these 2 candidates, that will cause problems for them in the General Election. If someone else becomes the nominee, it only aides to elect the Democrat nominee. Basically the Super PACs have ruined the chances of a Republican candidate winning.

Well I like to deal in reality and the reality is that Trump will be at or near 1237 on June 7th. At that point if he is 50 or so delegates short its an easy makeup. He either captures the needed number by seducing a few of the unbound delegates or offers Kasich VP which is what he wants and gets the makeup number from Kasich’s 143 delegates.

Cruz if he is dumb enough to try to stay in it til June 7th which I hightly doubt will be hundreds of delegates short and no way to make it up.

Trump wins on the first ballot and we all move on to the general election.

The reality is though once Cruz takes it away from who the majority want as the Republican nominee, he will lose in the general election.

You lecture on what is "real", and in the same sentence you imply that the "majority" wants who? Trump??

Off the top of my head, here are five, Robert Mercer, Dan Wilks, Farris Wilks, Toby Neugebauer, Rush Limbaugh.

Trump certainly shouldn't be funding the corrupt, globalist Clinton Fund and funding big government Democrats throughout country. He already has billions. Why the h*ell would he need to fund the destruction of our country??

The majority of votes cast for Republican candidates, but you knew that. You’re just pretending ignorance. Trump has almost 2 million more votes than Ted, who has garnered the second highest, so far. That is a reality.

Well like I said it will be easy to use those weeks before the convention to cut a deal for a few delegates. The problem is for a guy like Cruz who will need hundreds. I think it will all work out.

Quit putting words in my mouth, you're not smart enough.

Trump has NOT received the majority of the vote. He has received 37% of the vote. That is the "reality". I shouldn't even have to be telling you that. And I shouldn't be stupidly accused of "pretending Ignorance" because I understand the simple correct meaning of the word "majority". Should I accuse you of "pretending ignorance"?? Or are you really that ignorant?

Trump donated 250,00 to the Clinton Foundation to aid Haiti in relief. Remember that George Herbert Walker Bush was also a part of that relief effort. That was his one contribution to the Clinton Foundation.

Once the 2008 election cycle began, though, Trump shifted gears. He gave only 115 individual contributions between 2007 and 2014, with $83,800 going to Democratic politicians and affiliated groups and $588,000 going to Republicans.

He has received the greatest number. You are obtuse. Apparently you think a majority means it must exceed 50%, but that is not the case. A majority means nothing more that receiving the largest number so far.

Now run along and be yourself, because you think your are smarter than you are.

Meriam Webster.

Trump has received 37% of the vote. 37% is not a majority. In this case it's a plurality.

Now run along and be yourself, because you think your are smarter than you are.

LOL. No, just smarter than you.

It is amazing that so many people don’t even know the definition of simple English words like “majority” and “plurality” - and then embarrass themselves by making ignorant statements like he did...

Does that mean your man will drop out when he no longer can reach that magic number?

If Trump gets to 1237, then Cruz and Kasich should drop out. Until then, no one has won the nomination, so they should keep fighting, even if that means an open convention.

No, again just obtuse:

ma·jor·i·ty
/məˈjôrədē,məˈjärədē/

1. the greater number.
"in the majority of cases all will go smoothly"
synonyms: larger part/number, greater part/number, best/better part, most, more than half, plurality, bulk, mass, weight, (main) body, preponderance, predominance, generality, lion's share
"the majority of cases"

antonyms: minority

•US
the number by which votes for one candidate in an election are more than those for all other candidates combined.

•British
the number by which the votes for one party or candidate exceed those of the next in rank.

•a party or group receiving the greater number of votes.

synonyms: (winning) margin, superiority of numbers/votes; landslide
"a majority in the election"

2. the age when a person is legally considered a full adult, in most contexts either 18 or 21.

synonyms: legal age, adulthood, manhood/womanhood, maturity; age of consent, coming of age
"my youngest child has reached majority"

Perhaps - but Kasich's delegates are not obligated to vote for Trump just because he tells them to. And if Cruz is as good at getting his supporters selected as Kasich delegates as he has been about getting his supporters selected as Trump delegates, then there is a lot smaller pool of votes to be picked up by choosing Kasich as VP.

If Trump gets to 1237 then there is no need for them to drop out. But then again you had to have followed the entire thread, to know why that question was asked in the first place.

the number by which votes for one candidate in an election are more than those for all other candidates combined.

Which by definition must be 50% +1. If you combine the votes of all of the other candidates, it is more than Trump has received, so by your own definition, Trump has not received a majority - and cannot receive a majority unless he gets more than 50%.

My point is that they should not drop out unless Trump gets to 1237 - until then, no one has won the nomination.

1. the greater number.

That's not the definition. It looks like you left off the "a number more than half of the total" clause in the definition from theFreeDictionary.com.

"in the majority of cases all will go smoothly"

If 49% of the cases go smoothy, that's NOT an example of a "majority" of cases.

No, again just obtuse:

I would call you obtuse, but that would be unfair to people who are obtuse.

You are utterly stuck on stupid.
